I had a wide and very narrow nut on the underside of a bathroom sink faucet that had to be removed to replace the faucet cartridge. The threads and the nut were not only inaccessible to any wrench or vise grip I had, but also badly calcified and totally stuck. Add to this problem that the assembly I had to work around had a piece extend from it that was about 4.75" long. I was concerned that the socket wouldn't work for me because I couldn't get the length to clear my piece and also get the small pipe through the holes of the socket to turn it. And indeed that happened. I was only able to get the pipe through one side. I tried to put another screwdriver into the other hole but I didn't have enough torque doing so, nor enough room under the tight vanity the sink was mounted in! Then I discovered... I could take the next smaller size of the socket from the kit and place it into the other end of the socket I needed. Presto! I had a double long socket. The fit was so perfect that I could turn the whole socket assembly as though it were one piece. I was able to then fit the small supplied pipe through both holes and get a grip on it. It turned out my nut was so stuck that I needed to put a longer piece of pipe over the small piece of supplied pipe so I could get more leverage - about an additional foot in my case, but that did the trick. To feel that but finally begin to turn and come over was a moment of pure ecstasy ! I may never need these sockets again - but that was worth it. Now I'll be able to replace a $15 cartridge instead of a $500 plumber's invoice.

If I had known what size plumbers socket I needed I might have only bought that one. However, I am glad I didn't. I am DIY home person but I am willing to bet I use this set of tools again and will be thankful I spent for the set. Worked like a charm on a 1973 installed shower diverter. Made life so much easier. I gave 4 stars to durability only because I only used two and on the one project so who knows how they will perform over time. However, they are well made and come with a great way to keep the set together. Highly recommend.

A plumber showed me how to remove the valve stem to replace rubber washer. He said buy a set like this. Project complete! I did only use one size in the set, but still, better than $400 for a plumber visit!

Not the greatest made product (sloppy tolerances), but works fine for all my needs so far! I've already pulled 3 or 4 shower valve cartridges with this setup! Would buy again, and happily recommend!

I had to remove a shower push button valve that was recessed into the wall. I struggled with an adjustable wrench and pliers, but I was just making a mess. I ordered this, it came in two days. I tired it, and in five seconds, the valve was off. Easy and fast. It’s a lot to pay to use just one time, but if you can swing it, it saves so much frustration and stripped fastener heads. Okay, there are many similar tools that will do exactly the same thing. This particular set seems well made and covers all the sizes. It’s heavy, and there’s some good heft to the metal. If you’re a DIYer, it’s probably a good deal.
