I've purchased and assembled a couple of cabinets like this. My review is based on this 5-drawer chest in comparison to the others. I think if this was first experience with this type of furniture, I might have given it 4 stars; but based on experience, it really does deserve 5 stars even though it isn't perfect. Assembly took quite a bit of time. The instructions were relatively clear -- easy for someone with experience with the type of hardware used on MDF board. It might prove a challenge to a novice though. The reason it took so long is just that there are lots of pieces and lots of screws. I opted to use a screwdriver instead of a power drill because I didn't want to overtighten anything. MDF is okay but it's definitely not solid wood. I had to experiment and rearrange the drawers in order to get them all to fit. Not sure why since they're all the same size but in the end they all fit. Some drawers slide a little easier than others but none of them stick. The design is quite well thought out and all of the parts went together nicely. All of the holes matched up and all of the parts were marked accurately. Also, all of the necessary parts were included with some spare parts included in their own separate bag (as I said, nicely thought out). The drawers are a nice size including a functional 3.75" height which makes them a little taller than most of the cabinets I've seen of this style. Of course, since it's MDF, it has an odor to it but it's not harsh and did not irritate my extremely sensitive lungs. The big disappointment is the wheels. They don't match the quality of the rest of the cabinet. They're small and don't swivel or roll well at all. I might keep my eye out for better wheels, especially if I need the cabinet to be moved around much. When I placed my order, the price of the cabinet was $69.99. That seems a reasonable price for a piece of furniture of this quality. Not a great bargain but I'd pay it again for this quality. ... show more

First of all, this piece is heavy! The package weighed 34 lb! It’s made of particle board with a laminate coating. I like that the coating has a slight texture, which helps it not to scratch. For once the instructions were thorough (although some of the terminology is wonky - fyi an “eccentric wheel” = cam lock nut 😂), and there is also an assembly video if you need to refer to it. All the pieces were included and well There is even a small screwdriver provided, although I would recommend using an electric driver (a rubber mallet comes in handy as well!) There was a bag of extra hardware pieces, which is great as one of the cam lock nuts was a bit large for the hole so I just used one of the extras. It took me a couple of hours to assemble, and I’m pleased with how it turned out. The whole unit is very sturdy and the drawers glide nicely. Here are the actual measurements of the finished unit. Exterior 18 3/4” wide, 15 3/4” deep, and 25 9/16” high including the casters (23 3/8” without). Inside drawer measurements 15 3/8” wide, 13 1/4” deep and barely 3 5/8” high. ... show more

Thought this would be big enough for my 1 year olds clothes but it wasn’t. The drawers are not deep at all. I was still able to make it work in my pantry tho! It’s perfect for storing snacks and other easy to access items for little ones! It was very easy to put together, instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. It feels sturdy and solid.     • Durable, looks nice and is very useful
I’m using this in one of my rooms to organize smaller items. It works great as a nightstand or small dresser. I could easily see myself using this in my office or classroom. It is made with real wood except the thin back piece and the bottom of the drawers, those are particle board. So it is quite heavy. Assembly is needed and takes between 1-2 hours, I used my drill to save time and my hands for the small screws. Goes together easily with good instructions. Once together the drawers slide smoothly and it rolls nicely on my vinyl floor. This is definitely durable and has a thick outer coat that cleans easily. I needed something simple to store a few of my tidbits and this product was simple and straightforward to build. Although it was a bit time consuming to do it alone, seeing the price point I can't really complain about. Once constructed, it looks great with the rest of my white furniture in my room and holds up my tidbits very well. If you're looking for a robust, very well built product, this might not be what you're looking for but I believe at this price point, you'd be hard pressed to find anything better. ... show more

When I opened the box, I realized I was in for what turned out to be 2 hours of assembly. I took a few minutes to orient myself to the (extensive) parts, instructions. At first, I thought this was going to be flimsy, but when I finished (with no issues during assembly), and rolled the file cabinet around - it was SOLID, WELL-BUILT and will last a long time!
