Very pleased with this purchase. The product is well-constructed, has a number of safety features (auto gas shut off if the pilot goes out) and includes a remote. I had a fireplace guy install the gas connection, but the logs were fun to set-up and this funny little stuff like steel wool creates glowing embers. Even lava rock was included. I've seen a number of unhappy reviews regarding the unit shutting off and pilot light going out. I learned a trick as I experienced the pilot light going out following use. When the pilot is lit and you turn the operation knob to "on," only turn about 90%. This keeps mine on. I think my gas pressure was too high and when I turned the unit off, it blew out the pilot. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. When you buy from this company there is no phone number for support. The only number listed tells you to send an email for support. No one will ever call you back. They only send emails suggesting things for you to try. None of the suggestions even worked. I highly advise anyone to look elsewhere to purchase you gas logs and heat related products. If the item does not work you have to figure it out on your own. My problem was a defective receiver for my gas logs. I purchased a new set of logs with thermostat remote from this company. I paid an additional $200 to have a certified professional install the logs. The logs worked for a few days and then the thermostat stopped working properly. The logs would turn on and then would not turn off. I came home one evening and the temperature was 80 degrees even though I had the thermostat set to turn off at 70 degrees. This could have caused a fire had I left the logs on all day. Then the pilot light would turn off intermittenly and of course the flame would go out. In the middle of a snowstorm and your brand new gas logs won't stay lit. After reaching out to this company about this issue do you think I got one phone call to help figure out what was happening with these new logs? All I got was emails suggesting things for me to try. Even after I told them to stop the emails and pick up the phone they still insisted on sending emails. I purchased another receiver from another company who was more than happy to help me troubleshoot. The receiver did the trick and the logs are now working PROPERLY. I repeat, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. If you get a defective product you are on your own. The video shows that the logs are still burning even though the thermostat was CORRECTLY set to turn the logs off at 70 degrees with a 2 degree variance. The temperature had reached 75 degrees and still had not turned off!! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This insert is great! For the price, it’s $500 lower than the next best thing. I see a lot of negative reviews but I had the opposite. This came well packed with nothing broken and works with my propane home. Go buy a 10lb bag of black fireplace rock, extra wool, and the little log kit from Duluth and you too can have the same look. My firebox is 39” wide so I got the 30” kit and black flexible gas line from Lowe’s. Get yourself some Rectorseal 5 for the gas fittings - I put some on threads to seal the natural gas side since I’m using propane. Remote works like a charm. ... show more

We ordered this fireplace insert to replace a smaller one. When it arrived we were immediately disappointed by the fact that the logs are light weight and felt like styrofoam. I immediately started a return request. After reading that these are supposed to be light weight and some kind of ceramic infused (whatever)…so I talked my husband into going ahead and installing the unit. Well I wish I hadn’t! This thing will light the pilot fine, no yellow flame ends in the pilot or anything but…when the knob is turned to on and the fireplace insert is burning like it should then in a few minutes it just goes out PILOT LIGHT AND ALL! It is installed correctly the remote is programmed to the box in the fireplace area and this thing will not work! We’ve even changed out the bottle outside to a brand new one and also a brand new regulator. No luck with this thing! I have ‘cleaned’ it as the instructions stated…I don’t know why I thought it even needed to be cleaned considering it’s brand new out of the box but that is part of the troubleshooting instructions. We have spoken to the local gas company and even they couldn’t help! We’ve already installed and burned it a little so I can’t return it now and apparently we are stuck with a piece of equipment that just don’t work! DONT BUY THIS BRAND! BEWARE!!! Maybe spend just a little more and get something that really does work as described! This one is a NO GO!!! ... show more

Very happy with this so far. I installed it myself, and it went pretty smoothly. The instructions are decent, although it would be nice if there was one set of instructions instead of separate ones for the burner, the remote, the logs, etc (all different Chinese OEM's, I assume). The burner unit with all the valves is very solid and well-built, the remote unit seems cheap and fragile, but we'll see. The main thing my wife loves is that it's quiet - we installed it in the fireplace in our bedroom and we had a previous unit that was very noisy. Be aware that this one (and all the others I've found) use a pilot light that burns all day and night. Seems like someone should make one that works by an igniter instead of pilot light, but if there is one I haven't found it. Overall, this is a very nice unit. ... show more

The logs were very easy to install after I purchased the needed valve fitting for the regulator. Total time for hookup and log placement was less than one hour. Using the remote control allows effortless turning the logs on and off. I am very pleased with the heat output and look of the logs.
