  • Great cue with some quirks
Size: 20-Ounce Color: Cherry
Pros: - Off the bat, the cue looks great out of the box. Nice cherry finish on maple wood (stain is a bit darker in person than the photo), rubber bumper with the Dufferin leaf logo on the end to cover the weighted bolt, comfortable Irish linen grip and a nice, grippy clear coat, shaft is smooth through the hand and has no unnecessary finish to stick to your hand, perfect ferrule fitment and tip is nickel-shaped** (CORRECTION: Tip is QUARTER-shaped). - Hits feel positive (no weird hollow or 'clicky' feeling) - Comfortable all the way through stroke -- easy to find your gripping sweet spot - Shaft and butt end connect firm and tight Gripes: - DID NOT come with the signature blue Elkmaster tip (looks more like a Triangle tip; same company, but different hardness -- rated at medium/hard, which is just about how it feels when playing) -- I don't mind this since I prefer harder cue tips, but something to be aware of - Shaft has a fair amount of deflection and is not very forgiving to anyone with a sub-par stroke -- certainly a cue stick that has a learning curve to get used to its quirks -- but will reward you once you understand how the shaft behaves - Weight bolt works its way loose over time if you are a heavy hitter (bumper comes off easy to re-tighten bolt -- can be solved with a SMALL dot of Loctite blue) - Joint threads feel a bit gritty, sloppy, and imprecise, but is more a minor annoyance than anything that would impact the playability of the cue Summary: - Great cue stick at this price point from beginner to enthusiast. The butt end is something I can see one owning for quite some time as it has very little-to-no faults; the shaft leaves more to be desired but is easily replaced with others (has a 5/16"-18 joint; Katana & Players both make great shafts for this joint size). At this price point, would make a great choice for someone tired of playing with house cues that wants a simple-looking cue that performs well, with room to change shafts down the road as you progress. ... show more

  • Great cue for the money
Size: 18-Ounce Color: Midnight
I recently purchased one of these along with a lower end Lucky from McDermott. The Dufferin set me back 10 bucks more than the McDermott and is worth every penny. I play with a Huebler that has a custom shaft and sometimes with a Helmstetter - both very nice cues. I wasn't expecting much out of a $60-70 cue and with the McDermott I got about what I was expecting. With the Dufferin I was surprised at how much I like playing with it. It hits solid, the tip it comes with allows for a good amount of english and it rolls nearly perfect. I couldn't imagine another cue in this price range being any better. I just wish it had a linen wrap like the McDermott. ... show more

  • Great beginner Cue
Size: 18-Ounce Color: Midnight
I purchased this for my son as he is learning to play Pool. I have a Dufferin Cue that is 40 some years old and still looks fantastic and plays well. I thought I would buy him one too as he likes mine. This Cue is aesthetically pleasing and plays well and came perfectly straight. Unfortunately, like most things, these are no longer made in Canada and are now made in China. That is disappointing as I was hoping for a Cue made in Canada. This Cue is not cheap, and had I known that it was made in China, I would have spent more and purchased an American made Cue. ... show more

  • Excellent Cue
Dufferin is a well known brand of cues. I have used their one-piece cues for years and have always had great results. Thought perhaps it was time to add a two-piece Dufferin to my APA League arsenal and am glad I did. The D-232 Dove Grey is a beautiful cue. The grain is very straight and tight in both the butt and shaft portions of the cue. The cue is as straight as an arrow and has an adjustable weight system using weight bolts. I purchased the 21oz cue and it weighs in at 20.8oz. With the bolt removed it sits at a comfortable 17oz. It did not have the Elk Master tip as advertised, but rather has a very nice medium laminated tip. Tips are cheap enough that it can be replaced, if desired, but I found the included tip to be of very good quality. Dufferin did not disappoint. Excellent quality cue. ... show more

  • Straight and nice looking!
Size: 19-Ounce Color: Midnight
The feel is nice! I got the midnight 19 oz. and it is nice looking! For the $ you can't go wrong!

  • My son loves this cue
Size: 20-Ounce Color: Midnight
It's different from most other cues in that it doesn't have a cloth or leatherette grip — it's shiny wood all the way down. That said, it's stylish without being ostentatious and plays quite well. Only issue is that the tip took a little while to break in.
