The battery is absolutely horrible nothing better then only getting 20 to 30 mins on a full battery. The price was ok I'm a beginner so it's so so for me but the >instructions are a joke.     • What a difference a few years makes in high tech drones, still a toy but many pro-type features.
I got an over 100 dollar plus mini drone a few years ago to test. It took me a week to figure out how to connect the controller with Bluetooth. It was about a third this size, had no camera, very limited flight time. It did have a take-off and hover feature for beginners, but as soon as you moved laterally it was super hard to control. The dang thing blue into my bedroom and under my adjustable bed and stuck there for a while till I could fish it out. I took it outside and it stopped and dropped on my roof. A friend had to get it down as I can't climb ladders. The instructions were all in Chinese, and the parts were really breakable so in testing I broke most of the spares. It didn't last long before it was trashed. This is half as much and twice or more as good. Control is easy and it has object detection, so it doesn't fly into my flatscreen TV's. I tried it on an older one and it did a nice detection job. It has cameras for use with a separate phone App and can record stills or video. The communication is WIFI on a closed circuit between unit and controller, so you don't need to be connected to your home WIFI. There are devices that can stop 2.4 GHz to beat security cameras, so if certain security systems may down this device, but it's more of a fun toy. I don't think it flies too high but check local regs especially if you live near an airport. Don't bother neighbors too much especially if they hunt, you have replacement parts but not enough to offset a load of 00 buckshot! I would not use near highway systems, overpasses, or large transmission power lines, pools, lakes or ponds. A good field out in the country or a nice park might be good if they park allows you to control. I think some local parks in my city have allowed radio-controlled planes and helicopters, so I think drones would be fine. If you're going to try and peep at sunbathers, I wouldn't go past the property line, and check local ordinance for that too. There are some uses like inspecting chimney access gutters, or roof damage. It won't fire missiles, but for recon when hunting and fishing it could be a nice thing. It's basically a myth that birds like magpies like to steal watches and rings to decorate their nests. A guy who had a larger drone in Michigan did find a golf ball in a bird's nest (maybe crow), when he flew his drone around on the course early morning before the early tee times on the course. I used to have a picture of it in the nest. I wonder if they thought it was an egg from another bird and were trying to hatch it. Anyway, stay legal and have some fun with this it's gotten a lot easier to in recent years, bigger cheaper and more powerful with HD cameras nice. Recommended. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It took us a few tries to really get the hang of how to fly this particular drone but once we did get the hang of it, it was fairly easy to control and a lot of fun. An absolute must for this drone is having a fully charged battery, because that made all the difference in the world. With a full battery and a little bit of patience we had it flying everywhere in the house. The controls are very responsive so no lag to speak of which is great. As can be seen in the video, the onboard camera footage that the drone takes is pretty good. Also, being able to make it do a little tricks like flip and turn around and spin is easy to accomplish as well. Overall it's a cool toy and I think anyone that loves flying things like this will enjoy it. ... show more

If you have someone wanting to start learning how to use a drone, and would like it to be functional and an entryway to other drones, this is a great place to start! Fairly easy to fly, some learning curve, you will be up and going in no time with practice, nice controls, app easy to use also. The picture is good considering the price, very usable and functional, pretty impressed for the price honestly. Compact to store, easy to put into storage and unfold for flight. Has really good battery life, easy to learn on as it last a good while for use. The real time camera and the trajectory control are really great options at this price point and work really well, I really like the paint you trajectory option, it works pretty well and is fun to play with. This is a very cool looking drone, better than the photos in the listing. It came in a soft padded zippered case with a handle. My husband assembled it and tested it in the house and it worked great and has a good camera. It's quite loud so it isn't really suitable for indoor use. On the first outdoor test, the drone got up to about 40 feet and suddenly lost contact with the controller. It wouldn't respond and it turned around a couple times and took off into the wild blue yonder. Because the controller lost contact with the drone and couldn't be controlled, he suspected that the 2 antennas on the controller were fake and it seems he's right. They are just plastic, no metal at all and they just snap off and on and the piece they snap onto is just plastic too. He said if he opened the controller up, he'd probably find a small wire antenna inside. This is not our first drone, my husband has two and plenty of experience flying them. This drone has potential but I still can't believe it just took off on its first outing. My husband thought the drone was supposed to land if it lost contact with the controller so he searched the neighborhood but no luck. ... show more
