This is a clean, simple, light, very reliable way to drop things from your drone by remote control at a very fair price. I use it on my DJI Mini Pro 3 but have also found other uses: There was a abandoned cat who left several sweet little kittens behind our home. I goal was to catch them, have then spayed & neutered and find homes for them while also adopting the mother to live with us. Some of the kitties were easy to catch but not all of them. I rigged up a large dog cage as a trap but needed a way to trigger the door to close and stay in place. I did not want to injure any of these frail little kittens so, since there were several of them, I needed to know that they were ALL safely inside the cage/trap before allowing the door to drop. I rigged up a wifi camera close to the cage and when I could see that all of the little buggers were in there together chowin' down on snacks, I tripped the door with this handy little airdop doo-dad and found homes for them all. Bought this for a modification to a ground squirrel trap so I can remotely and selectively trap who I want. Tree squirrels can go in and out and eat their fill but when the ground squirrels go in I can get em from inside the house with the push of a button. They are then X ground squirrels.     • Ruined my drone
It blocked the sensors on my dji mini 4 and I couldn’t operate the drone. It started saying it was overheating and force landing. It ended up force landing over a lake and my drone was toast. Would not recommend, there has got to be a better way.

    • Saw a YouTube video about using this for feral cat trap remote!
This is a game changer. I do TNR work and when traps get older/ maybe a little rusty or bent, or you keep trapping the same cat over and over you really wish you had a simple remote that you can control when the trap closes that isn’t $100 and doesn’t take a lot of work. I saw a YouTube video , where a guy used one of these to control the feral cat trap. The portion that is attached to the drone is attached to the top of the trap and you use small bungee cords to hook in to that part and the other side hooks to the front of the trap door and it holds the door to the trap open until you hit the button on the remote. So you can sit a ways away or in your car and watch your trap from afar and trap. Only the cat you want or if you’re trying to catch a cat or kitten that won’t set the trap off. I also use a Eufy starlight 4G LTE camera so I can basically sit in my car. Watch the video and hit a button on the remote. It is an insane game changer and it’s affordable and really easy to do. This one charges with your regular phone charger (apple 15) And all you need is some zip ties and small, thin bungee cords. This one is strong and very easy to set up. The only downside is that the charging ports don’t seem to be waterproof or have any kind of cover to keep it protected. But if you do any kind of work for the betterment of cats, this is for you ... show more

    • Works fine for the specific role it's designed for
Very niche but fills that niche very well. For how cheap it was, its surprisingly well built and pretty straight forward. For lighter drones, the release being offset to the side definitely needs planning to avoid the drone being unbalanced, but it worked fine with my DJI Mini 3 Pro. Range is very good, it worked perfectly even when my drone with over 300 ft high and a block away from me, so for the price it's perfect for what I needed (dropping water balloons from my drone for my senior water wars). Main issue (which isn't the fault of this specific item) is that drones with obstacle avoidance will likely (as mine did) detect whatever your "payload" is and try to avoid it, which can cause a dangerous loop of evasions that can cause a crash. ... show more

    • Super useful to rig up a cat trap to become
Use this on humane cat trap to make it automated. Trying to trap one cat and a large colony so this gave me the added control of allowing the other cats to go in and feed and let me trap the exact cat that I was aiming for. Super easy to set up. If anyone needs help, let me know.
