  • Great product
I bought this product for my mother, who is 92 and has dementia. It has delivered on all my expectations. Mom is only 4"11" and the low handle setting is the perfect height for her (as is the seat). She was very unsteady walking on her own but walks quite confidently with the rollator. An added bonus is that she can now walk erect, with her head up, vs. slumped with her head down. Since Mom has dementia, she has no idea how to use the brakes. However, I can walk beside her with my hand on the wheelchair handle to provide any assistance she might need in slowing down on ramps. The rollator is sturdy and handles outdoor terrain (sidewalks and some grassy/gravel areas) very well. I chose not to keep the storage basket on the unit (to keep things simple and light) but the seat very handy to carry anything we need (as we are using the unit as a rollator 100% of the time). The unit also folds easily and is easy to pick up and store as it only weighs 22 pounds. I highly recommend this product for anyone who is a bit unsteady or does not have the stamina to walk far on their own. ... show more

  • Serious Safety Risk - should be a recall
Dangerous Design Flaws — Serious Safety Risk! This model has a major design flaw: each front wheel is supported by only a single frame arm. Because of this weak structure, the wheels swivel and tip even over small cracks or uneven pavement. (See video). The only way to move it safely is to pull it backward — pushing forward makes the front wheels buckle and tilt dangerously. If we hadn’t noticed in time and continued walking briskly while pushing our dad in wheelchair mode, he could have been thrown from the seat — an extremely dangerous situation. I also have a video when my dad was jerked forward and I had to turn around to pull him instead; but Amazon limits to only 1 video . For reference, our dad weighs only 160 lbs, so his weight is not enough to damage or distort the wheels. This is clearly a design defect, not user misuse. I reported the issue to the manufacturer over a week ago. Their representative offered to replace the distorted wheels, but I told her — why would I continue using a product with such a dangerous flaw? Replacing the wheels doesn’t fix the unsafe design. The company has shown no real concern and taken no corrective action. I will insist Amazon to take back the item and refund me in full. I strongly discourage anyone from buying this model until it’s recalled and properly redesigned for safety. ... show more

  • Such a wonderful mobility aid Such a wonderful mobility aid
My rollator/transport chair arrived today, and so far I’m over the moon. It arrived a day after ordering it, fully assembled. I was able to use FSA funds to purchase it, which is so amazing. And the rollator is awesome. I love the adjustable handles. I’m 5’8 and my partner is 6’3. Having taller handles is already so much more comfortable. I took it for a spin around the neighborhood. As a rollator, handles smoothly on pavement and grass. It stays straight even when I’m pushing it with one hand. It transforms into a transport chair in about 30 seconds. I haven’t gotten to test it out as a transport chair, but am excited to do so soon. It’s more comfortable than my standard rollator. It’s also easier to move around since it folds inward, I can push it while moving it in and out of the house, which reduces how much lifting I need to do. It feels a little heavier than my standard rollator but it’s still quite manageable. And it feels very sturdy and just well designed. 10/10. I only wish I could get it in another color, but that’s a small complaint in the grand scheme. I also got a few cupholders and clips to go with it, and they went on easily. ... show more

  • DRIVE Duet Nitro Wheel chair
Great for transporting in/out SUV. It is lightweight and love how it converts from a walker to a wheelchair.

  • Good Product - Fine Tuning Would Make It A 5-Star Good Product - Fine Tuning Would Make It A 5-Star
I purchased the Nitro Duet Transport Chair/Rollator prior to my wife having a hip replacement. As a walker it performed well giving her an upright walking posture, providing a seat when she tired and facilitating longer excursions because I could push her when the walking got to be too much. As her post surgery walking distance increased, we were able to walk much further one way than if she had to also walk home. It was a psychological boost in her recovery and the return home push on our mostly flat local streets was easy thanks to the Nitro’s larger wheels. The fit & finish of our unit was and remains excellent. In normal use the paint seems to resist chipping, nothing has gone out of adjustment, and nothing has broken. The shipping container was pretty flimsy though for a painted unit costing $300+ and I felt fortunate that it made the trip without damage. A sturdier box seems in order to match the quality of the product. The seating position is good for my wife at 5’4” and I find it easy to push and control on level surfaces. This prompts me to suggest some fine tuning of the design by the manufacturer. Like any wheeled vehicle of this type, it wants to veer downhill on our neighborhood’s sloped sidewalks and driveways when used for transporting. In the walker mode, it’s not a problem. Be prepared to use the uphill brake to help straighten its path but don’t expect it to be easy when used in transport mode. The steeper the slope, the more difficult it is to maintain a straight path and it takes a bit of muscle on the part of the pusher. The issue here is that the passenger’s center of gravity is in front of the rear wheels not over them as they would in a standard wheelchair. The weight of the passenger is pivoting around the back wheel and the relatively short handles used in pushing don’t give the pusher mush leverage to counter the seated persons weight. The heavier the passenger, the more difficult it is to go straight on a sloped surface. The second thing to be aware of is the rear wheel tires and brakes. On level surfaces, everything works well and the 8” diameter rear wheels make door thresholds and minor sidewalk bumps and cracks manageable. But going down our sloped driveway to the sidewalk can be difficult to dangerous in either the walker or transport mode. I think the durometer (hardness) of the rear tires is at fault. The tires are quite hard and do not grip concrete well when the brakes are applied. The brakes can easily lock up the rear wheels but, the tires lose their grip on concrete and begin to slide. If the walker or pusher is not prepared or can’t keep up with the sliding chair, they could be knocked off balance and fall. Snow and ice would compound the problem but, I found that bare concrete alone can cause the problem if you aren’t applying the brakes at the first sign of the chair getting away from you. Another issue in transport mode is negotiating curbs. As mentioned, the passenger weight is in front of the rear wheels so, unlike a wheelchair, you can’t pivot the chair on the rear wheels to place the front wheels on top of a raised curb and then lift the back to get to the level of the sidewalk. The same is true trying to go down a curb. This is a ramp only transporter. Don’t think the small foot pedal on the right rear leg will do the job. Its there to help you get an empty chair up and down. I would suggest the manufacturer look at these problems and telescope the handles to facilitate pushing on sloped surfaces and soften the rubber tires so they will grip bare concrete on the typical sloped driveway, probably about a 6% grade. On small inconvenience, since the tubular frame is not round, the universal water bottle holder (available separately) will not work very conveniently but there is a strap-handle on the seat that will do a fair job of holding a bottle in place. All in all, this is a very good product and in shopping mall use and level surfaces outdoors its far superior to walkers with smaller wheels. It facilitates an upright walking posture and a natural walking gate. It’s a reasonable resting chair. It has a convenient small storage compartment with a zipped closure. Its weight is reasonable given all the function it provides but it takes up the full depth of our Camry trunk and a good bit of its width. Keep in mind, it’s a transport chair, not a wheelchair. ... show more

  • Danger! Unstable wheels. Otherwise lots of great features.
I’m really sorry to give this one star. I would love to give this more stars because there is a lot to like about it, but it is simply dangerous when used as a wheelchair. The large front wheels easily get caught on small bumps in sidewalks and unexpectedly pitch the rider forward. We have had a couple of very close calls with my mother on even tiny bumps. The wheels have the tendency to shimmy and turn sideways on slightly rough surfaces even when there are no bumps at all. The walker is also pretty hard to maneuver as a walker. It’s much heavier than some of the more common “rollators” and it’s also bigger and harder to turn. We are on a trip, but we won’t be using this thing after we get back. It is just too dangerous. I don’t even want to donate it in case the next person gets hurt. Other than that, it is well built. The frame itself is incredibly sturdy (if a bit heavy) and there are lots of nicely thought-out features, like the way the footrests fold down and the way the walker folds up. It feels like someone put a lot of thought and care into it. It’s just a bummer about the wheels. The brakes are also a bit non-functional. They are metal teeth that pinch down on the wheel. They don’t really work to slow down the walker (so you really have to hang onto the person you’re pushing if you’re going down a hill). The metal teeth also seem like they could be hard on the wheels over time. I’m very glad that this company is making a walker/wheelchair. It is super useful and super well-made apart from the wheels. If you can swap out the front wheels for something with a wider more rubbery tire, that might solve a lot of the problems. I might try that. ... show more

  • Wonderful, many uses walker/transport chair.
This is a wonderful combination walker and medical transport chair. I use it all the time, and it really helps ease my back pain when walking. My husband can push me in it for long distances. I highly recommend this walker.
