Got this to replace a recon I got from CPO about 5 years ago. I hope this recon works out. It has the added advantage of tool less blade changes. It is also a higher amperage tool. I think the only thing wrong with my old one is it needs a new speed control module! What a waste to throw out a tool for that! Have not used the tool as yet, and may not need to for several weeks, so I have no feed back about performance, but it does seem to run fine when plugged in. ... show more

Used it 2 times and the quick release broke so I can't change the blade. I don't recommend buying one of these. They are not rebuilt through out. Better off spending $30 more and getting a new one from the store.

I got a refurb here on amazon at a price I couldn't refuse. I'm glad I got this. I have a cordless version, and it's fine for quick work, but the corded version is more affordable and will last forever. It will also never require a battery charge or replacement. I use its cut-off tool, sanders and grinders to work in corners that are absolutely painful to do by hand. Great tool! I'll add this- if you're buying any tool you plan to keep around for a long time, buy a corded version. Unless the job absolutely demands cordless, you'll benefit from the longevity and extra power the corded tools provide. ... show more

Works and looks like new - I received the 3.8A not the 2.5A as titled - came with official dremel blades and sanding pads. This model refurb MM40 was even better priced than the MM30 refurb, is more powerful and has a quick lock system. Better than I could have hoped for.

I bought this in a pinch when my current Dremel reciprocating tool died during a kitchen renovation. I was weary given the mixed reviews on a re-man. However, this tool performed as needed for many, many cuts, and so far it's been great. A solid value over paying full price for a new one!
