This 10.4 oz Bluetooth speaker is a powerhouse. It plays quite loudly for such a small speaker (3.5x4.5x1.75 inches). More importantly, it plays quite cleanly with lots of punch but crystal clear vocals at full volume. It has some clever electronics like 4-LED dynamic volume-meter display, stereo mode (with a second Bolt natch) or party mode - which means playing as many Bolts as you can muster the same music on all of them. But I bet most people end up using the simplest way….as a fantastic sounding, tent (or small room) filling speaker they happens to have a lantern function built in because you are always going to have it nearby. I’m not brave enough to intentionally test the IP67 dust and water proofing rating, because I love this speaker too much. But I’ll not shy away from taking it out in the rain or on a hike at all. The case is easy to grip. Easy to hang. Easy to control with the large rubber buttons; even with gloves on. The grill over the speaker is certainly metal, and the whole thing feels indestructible. I was pleasantly surprised by this Bluetooth speaker. It's compact enough to take just about anywhere, but it delivers powerful, clear sound that easily fills the space around you. The audio quality is impressive for such a small speaker, with good volume and crisp sound. I also like that it's more than just a speaker. The built in strobe and utility light make it a great companion for camping, outdoor gatherings, emergencies, or simply spending time outside after dark. The IP67 waterproof rating is another big plus, giving me confidence to use it around the pool, at the lake, or on rainy days without worrying about damaging it. Ugh. I had really high hopes for this thing. It looks cool in all the pictures and they tout it as this handheld tank of a speaker. Upon receipt, I gave it the once over. Packaging was nice. It comes with this paracord strap thing with a carabineer clip. They definitely catered to a specific crowd (one I happen to be part of). The charging port is under that gas cap cover along the top. There's a light on the side as well that I never bothered testing. It's got nice weight and the rubber over mold armor seems like it will back up the claims made in the listing. Then I turned it on. I was immediately blasted with a distorted garble. I paired it to both my laptop and then my phone afterwards. We're looking at a situation of either a defective unit or the worst sounding speaker I've ever heard. It's called the Bolt and it sounds like it's missing a few of those. Go ahead and check the video. That's supposed to be music. It's painful to hear. Oh well. I guess I have a $50 paperweight. As I received this item as part of the Vine program, I can neither return nor exchange it for another one. Quite a waste here. Unfortunately, there are zero changes I'd recommend this speaker to anymore. ... show more

The unboxing experience was a nice surprise — there’s a cute letter from the founder that adds a personal touch and connection to the company, and reading it first actually drew my attention to the case design when I opened it. The decals are a nice touch too, especially the colored one, which looks like it’ll be very permanent; I’ll probably give the extras to my kids for their water bottles. The lanyard is nicely woven, strong, and soft, and attaches to the speaker easily. I really appreciate that the USB port has a screw closure to keep it watertight — way more durable-feeling than the rubber stoppers I’ve seen on other “waterproof” speakers, as long as the hard plastic cap doesn’t crack over time. Charging is straightforward: a red light stays on while charging and turns off when done. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Sound quality in mono from a single speaker is surprisingly bassy but clear — better than you’d expect for its size. I wish I’d ordered a second speaker to try the TWS stereo pairing. A few gripes: there are no previous/next track buttons, so I couldn’t find a way to skip or rewind songs. The lights are also underwhelming — not bright enough to function as a real flashlight, the “music follow” mode feels gimmicky (see short video), and I’m not sure what the strobe option is meant to be used for. ... show more

Are you going to blow down doors with this thing? No. Is it surprisingly loud for its size? Absolutely. It seems very well made. I like that it looks like a 5 gallon military water jug. The black cap unscrews for access to the charging port. I don't really care for the lights but they're easy enough to turn off and would be good to have in the event of an emergency (or a party). It was very easy to pair with my phone and maintains the bluetooth connection after power cycling. It has great bass for something so small. Really pleased with the speaker and it's ability to withstand wet environments! ... show more

If I could give this incredible Dreamwave Bolt 10 stars I would! The sound that comes out of this handheld speaker will blow your mind. The base response is remarkable. I have 2 different top of the line Bluetooth speakers this size, that honestly can't compare to this Bolt. The sound is strong, crisp and full off bass. The sound projection delivers up to 103db of output. Enough sound to entertain a group of folks around the firepit. Totally impressive! This speaker is rechargable via USB-C. The circular twist cap covers the port on the speaker. A fully charged battery will provide up to 10 hours of sound. Did I tell you this speaker is completely waterproof and it floats. The setup and connection to your Bluetooth device is super simple. The device has a blue light to confirm it's paired. When it's playing you can choose a colored light, or yellow light to respond to the sounds. It even has a flashlight. This is a fabulous speaker that is an outstanding price. This speaker sounds good for its small size. Great to use for camping or some place that has a small area. The size makes it portable and it is waterproof so that’s perfect for using in the outdoors. It also has a light which is handy because you can always use an extra light.
