I have had several different variations on a pepper grinder in the past. All eventually either broke or stopped working well and were a hassle to clean and repair. The first time we experienced this grinder was when our friends gifted us one last holiday season. It is truly awesome! We are hoping to be able to get additional screw-on containers to be able to switch out what we grind. We also have gifted this to several of our culinary friends and gotten great reviews. I bought the plastic version first and liked it so much that I purchased another one in glass and metal, they are the best one-handed mills that I have found - not with the one-handed usability of my old Charles Cole but that broke (after several years) and it did not produce such consistent granes or match the grinding rate of these mills - which is exceptional. The fatal flaw is the spring which as others have noted is not strong enough to open the handles, a finger on the inside is needed to assist making one handed operation possible - but awkward.

Just squeeze the wooden handles for a little bit or open the handles up, grab one in each hand & go to town! I got the one with the glass container & I'm glad. Great quality build.

Easy to use and holds a decent amount - bought 2 and I use for rock salt and peppercorns. LOVE how I can use two hands to get a lot out of my pepper in a short time - very cool. I can see how it would be easy to over tighten and with the lite (plastic)-how it could crack. But read some reviews and was watching out for it. No big deal and feel sure it won't come loose or just pop off. Glad I noticed these - this company does a nice job with many of their products - LOVE their spinner colander- great for fitting in cabinet

I bought the lite version- it is all plastic (stainless grinder) and I loved it… until… the jar cracked and fell off - all the pepper corns fell into my Christmas potato dish. I immediately came back on and ordered the higher quality Ortwo with the glass jars This is the best mill I have ever owned I just wish I had purchased the original first. Hope I save someone that frustration.

I bought this for a problem I was having. Whenever I would rub seasoning into raw meat (or just turn it), I always needed to first wash my hands so that I could then use the pepper mill again since it required both hands, and I don't like touching kitchen tools that aren't really washable with contaminated hands. Voila! I got on amazon looking specifically for a one-handed pepper mill to remedy this annoyance, and found this. It works perfectly. One hand to come in contact with the meat - rub in salt, pepper, oil, etc. The other hand free to add those ingredients - including the pepper. Amazing how something so minor can make such a big difference in the kitchen.

We own 2 of the Ortwo grinders & use them everyday. The best aspects of this design are the ceramic grinders (no rust or wear) & the option for one handed operation (really useful while cooking). I need to add that 2 years after purchase we ran into a problem with one of the grinders & Dreamfarm customer service was very responsive and helpful.
