I can definitely feel the rubberized coating. I'm hoping that means it's going to be easier to clean and not get any growth on it with humidity. The holes are smaller than I expected. This may retain more debris than a regular net. My grandson will probably enjoy this when we go paddle boarding since he can easily carry this and then drop it in where we see schools of fish. I was going to have this be a Christmas present for him but it may get used along with the magnet fishing set for hurricane cleanup. Eventually the two can be used for fishing and in tandem to clean up litter and debris to try to do our part in keeping the gulf and springs clean

The media could not be loaded. I ordered this collapsible Fishing Net Trap when I saw that it can also be used to land fish from a bridge. I fish regularly from a bridge in Florida and have another net that is sturdy metal but I never take it with me because it is large and just takes up too much space. This net solves that problem in that it is compact being easily collapsible and can be put in the included bag when not in use and unfolded when in use. It's great that the net is dual purpose since you can also use it to attract and catch bait. There's an included mesh bag that can be filled with bait to attract bait fish and then attached to the net to catch bait fish. It included a rope that I can use to lower it when landing fish from the bridge. There was a smell from the net when I first opened the package so I left it outside and hopefully the smell dissipates after a few days and if not I may try soaking it in a 5 gallon bucket with dish soap or fabric softener. The only other potential issue I see is possibly needing to weigh down the net when it's really windy to help it stay in place when trying to land fish from the bridge. Overall I'd recommend it for landing fish from a bridge and also for catching bait fish but I would probably only use it in shallow water where you can see the baitfish and quickly draw the net up when they enter it to try to catch them since most of the fish here are pretty quick. Another tip - make sure you rinse it out after use to avoid a fishy smell.

I've been using a metal round cage style trap to capture minnows but when I saw this I knew I had to have it. It comes folded up in a carrying bag. I can't try this out until next year but I thought it worthwhile to make some observations about this net. The net itself is made of a rubbery material. The holes in the net are close enough that I'm not concerned the minnows will escape. It comes pre-tied with rope to pull it up, and a longer rope to attach to the pull up rope if you want to drop this into deep water. The ropes are nylon so there is some risk that they could untie. I'll need to watch for that. The instructions explain how to fold it up, but I gave up after a few tries. The rings are made from plastic and I was concerned that it could get damaged. I don't need to keep it folded up anyway, so that's not an issue for me. I'm anxious to give this a try and I really think it's going to work well for my needs (minnows).

Drasry Fishing Net Trap for Crayfish Crab Bait Minnow Shrimp Foldable Fish Crawdad Lobsters These are virtually the same type of crab hoops that I use in the ocean on for rock and dungeness crab in California. It's a large outer ring and a slightly smaller inner ring, that when lifted/suspended, looks like a basket. While deployed, the whole net will lay flat of the ocean/lake/river bottom, until you lift. Crabs and whatnot will be free to move INTO and OUT of the trap until you retrieve it--so, you'll need to keep enough bait in the net to keep the critters occupied. Instead of STEEL fixed rings, these rings are plastic with folding capability like a windshield sunscreen. Instead of classic nylon mesh, this uses the rubberized mesh. I don't think this is much of a selling point for crawdads or crabs, but since I'll occassionally use this as a landing net from a bridges, this could be easier on the fish. The mesh holes are definitely smaller than typical crab nets, possibly making it suitable for minnows. Without the rings being steel, I was surprised at how much weight you can actually lift in the net. The included rope(s) are basic nylon rope, should last a long time, even with sun/uv exposure. The net works well, as designed. There isn't a bait pocket though, nor a bait cage. You'll want a bait bag or wire cage to hold your attractant. I just secure a small cage with zip ties and it's good. I've NOT been able to properly fold the thing to fit back into the original carry case. It's like a windshield screen, where you have to do an awkward twisting fold, but with two separate rings of different size, it's not easy at all. I like a challenge and will continue to try, but I might just give up and store this net in it's fully expanded mode. Portability would have been a very nice feature, making the hoop small to carry. Sigh.

As other's have said, this is a nice net with a rubberized coating on the netting. The challenge is getting it folded back into its collapsed shape - BUT - Just grab two opposite ends and twist in opposite directions. Works just like a windshield sunshde. It will be great for crabbing from a bridge or pier in the gulf.
