This stuff I’m told was super popular before I was born. Really wanted to mature my fragrance since before I only ever used body sprays and my wife doesn’t like them. After researching around this kept popping up. I only vaguely knew of it from the family guy skit. Decided if it’s so highly regaurded and seems to still be popular after all these years it was worth a shot. I really like the smell. It’s got this sort of “clean” just out of the shower smell. It also lasts for hours but be careful with the sprays no more than two maybe three max as it can go from refreshing to overpowering very fast. Either way I feel like I’d been wasting my time with axe and the such. There’s no comparison. First time buying Drakkar Noir. After spraying this one, I immediately recognize the barbershop smell, everyone has smelled this smell. My father has definitely worn this or a similar barbershop cologne. Classic. I wear it around the house or to get motivated. It's pretty potent and fairly long-lasting as an EDT. Some people call Drakkar Noir "dated". Personally I think coffee smelled good in the 1980's and it still smells good in 2020. Likewise Drakkar Noir smelled good to people 40 years ago and it still smells great today. I'm not sure I buy into the concept of a smell becoming dated. People have loved the smell of a good wine for a few thousand years. Is Cabernet "dated"? Nah, the "In Crowd" just got bored and moved on to something else. Meanwhile, for around 30 bucks, you can still smell clean and fresh with a hint of pine forest thrown in for a masculine vibe. Performance isn't beast mode but that's OK in the office, on a train, or in a plane. Drakkar Noir is a moderate performer at a bargain price. It's versatile for both weather and occasion. And I don't get any negative reactions. Most people like the smell. What else is a fragrance supposed to do? Highly recommended! ... show more

Bought as stocking stuffers for my son’s after we had a discussion about men’s colognes. I told them about how all the boys in my high school were drowning in Drakkar Noir back in the 80s. It's been years, maybe 25 since I used Drakkar and it smells better than I remember. It has a nice combo of winter spice with spring citrus. Still masculine. I'm not sure how long the scent will last because I just sprayed some on, but it's definitely strong. You won't need much and it's definitely the real mccoy. 3.4 oz for that price is a deal when I've been given other colognes that retail at $60+ for a 3.4 oz size. I vary my colognes ( have 5 ) and this makes the cut. ... show more

I ordered the Drakkar Noir and it came in a timely fashion...we live in rural Montana. It appears to have the same fragrance as I remember nearly 29 years ago...just remember that a Little Goes a Long Ways:-) I'm very happy with my purchase and would buy the product again.

Ever wondered what Michael Knight or Magnum PI smelled like? Well here you go, the definitive 80s scent. Spray some of this on and step back in time to the greatest decade this country has ever had. I wear it to sleep so I can dream of parachute pants, big hair, boom boxes and amazing NBA basketball. The only problem I have with this is with my wife being upset over the enormous amount of attention I get from the ladies when I wear it.
