  • finally adulting and writing about a tattoo kit that i love!
Pattern Name: M6 Tattoo Pen
i recommend reading this whole thing!!! hello! i usually never write reviews but since i’m now in my 20s and actually adulting i figured now is a good time to start. so, here we go! **NOTE: please, PLEASE, keep in mind that i am in no way a professional, and i am learning, as well as starting an apprenticeship soon. buy this at your OWN RISK. i’ve been wanting to apprentice and start doing tattoos for a very, very long time. it’s been a huge goal of mine, and since i’m already an artist and pretty confident in my art i wanted to take it to the next level. i’d been doing small stick n pokes for a while and hated how they all turned out, and was never confident in them, and i stumbled upon this gem. below i’ll be breaking everything up into sections and going from there! TATTOO PEN ITSELF: so i actually really love this. it’s super easy to use, and as someone who prefers doing line work as a regular artist, i found this super easy to use and really easy to do my own art style in. my pen was red, which i was kinda expecting a black one like the photos but i actually love the red a lot more! obviously doesn’t change how it works, just the color of the pen itself. TATTOO KIT INCLUSIONS: so, everything that came with the kit is pretty great! so far i have only used the black and red inks, but i like them. i’ll definitely be switching them out for new inks down the road, but they’re good to practice with and work for beginners. i have read reviews of these inks themselves, and saw people had reactions to the yellow ink, so just beware! i haven’t personally used it and will not be using it. needles: the needles are great! i’ve had maybe 1 or 2 get stuck so far, but other than that they work pretty well. for me personally i feel like the ink doesn’t really stick to the needle but it could just be the way i’m using everything? but regardless it’s a good start for beginners. ink: i’ve done some tattoos where the ink stays great, and others where it just refuses to stay on. i’m not sure if this is me or the ink, but like i said i will be switching out my ink soon! foot pedal/power: so i actually had a hard time figuring out how this worked when i first got it, there weren’t any instructions so it was a guessing game, but i eventually got it and know what i’m doing now! kit itself: i actually really love it. however, if you are NOT an artist or do not know what you are doing at all please please learn techniques and drawing before you jump straight to a tattoo gun! MY TATTOOS + HEALING: so far all of my tattoos have turned out great! i’ve only done them on myself and my sister, as i refuse to touch anyone else without a license (especially since the health department in my area is super strict.), and i don’t want to be the reason someone gets hurt. if it’s on myself then oh well that’s my problem. but like i said my tattoos have turned out great and healed pretty well! if you don’t know how to care for a tattoo / don’t have any previous ones i highly recommend looking into tattoo recovery and care before you do anything, or maybe getting one in a shop first. i have a few professional tattoos as well so this wasn’t my first rodeo! i had a scare with an infection with one of my tattoos, but turns out i just pushed a hair really far into my skin and it got gross, so please be careful and make sure you are working on a CLEAN and STERILE environment. i personally have nerve damage so it was hard for me to tell when i’m going too deep or not deep enough, so a few of my tattoos are a little too deep and i have to go over some once they’ve healed a bit, and that’s okay because it’s a learning process as well. i’ll be attaching quite a few pics of my tattoos, and a lot of them are super fresh so theyre going to be red and puffy! TATTOO CARE: in case anyone has no idea what they are doing i’m going to give you a little guide on how to clean the area you’re going to tattoo and care for it after! tattooing an area: - make sure the area is cleanly shaven. i made that mistake and gave myself a nasty ingrown hair and it was not fun at all. - clean the area, i use antibacterial soap and make sure everything is sterile - wash your hands before touching ANYTHING! that includes the area you’re going to tattoo - when prepping, wear gloves and make sure you’re not using anything that’s old or has been previously used. - i personally use wet paper towels to wipe away ink, and nothing dry because it irritates my skin. just make sure you’re not leaving a ton of ink on your skin! tattoo aftercare: - i personally leave mine covered for a few hours after, but not too long because my skin is very sensitive. - i bought bandages/coverings from a drugstore that were sterile and breathable - after you take your covering off, wash it with lukewarm water and antibacterial orange soap with no scent. i pat mine dry with a paper towel - frequently apply aquaphor or some kind of unscented healing jelly. don’t let ur tattoo dry out! - i personally wash mine whenever i feel like it, but usually multiple times a day! - your tattoo will get itchy as it heals, don’t scratch it. i pat mine lightly with a paper towel to help relieve any pain or itching. i hope this helps! good luck and have fun! ... show more

  • Cool starter kit
Pattern Name: M6 Tattoo Pen
I like using this tattoo machine, as a beginner it seems to have most of the basics to start, the needles it comes with are kinda garbage and I had to purchase different ones but overall a good starting point for someone new

  • Very Suprised! Rotary is well made and great for tattoos!
This kit was fast on del and extremely happy. I’ve used many pens and this rotary machine feels good with the weight and adjustment depths. The wireless power unit is also amazing and can be dialed to .1 increments on the voltage so you can really dial it into what you like. First time using it lasted 5 hours and still had plenty left. Super fast to charge. Would recommend this set up to anyone, wether just starting, apprenticeship or seasoned pro. ... show more

  • Works good for just learning
Pattern Name: Cordless Kit
Works as i expected, but I'm giving it 4 stars because it said it came with 20 needles, but it only came with 10. It also showed some stuff in the picture that was not in the box, but thats okay. Just happy that it actually works! Will be using it to learn how to tattoo :)

  • I haven't had a chance to use it...
Pattern Name: M6 Tattoo Pen
I will say that it fits like a glove in my hand. I am a beginner and I don't even know if this is something I want to do yet. We shall see :) Where this sold me was the price I got it at. And then I registered it through Dragon Hawk. On their website there are educational videos that are free. When I saw this, I was like heck yeah....Kudos DragonHawk. Because legal or illegally given, the people whom are giving them need to be educated on the proper way to implement good hygiene and practice above exceptional sanitation. Along with how to run the gun and set up. Because, we, the consumer, not all of us know how to do any of the above. And from what Ive seen there are not to many free DIY educational tattoo videos. Again, Kudos to Dragon Hawk. And to Amazon your package was delivered perfectly and on time and as usual Amazon put another smile on my face! Oh and shout out to wiki buy because they found this product at the price I got it at. Wiki Buy you are at the top of my websites next to Amazon and I high recommend anyone to go through Wiki Buy and Amazon and Dragon Hawk Tattoo Supply!!! Cant wait to actually use it and I will let you know how it goes when that time comes. XO ... show more

  • So far REALLY GOOD
Pattern Name: Cordless Kit
It works really really well and the battery only needs to charge for 30 mins and it will last 4 hours. The fake skin isn't great but it works. It came very quickly and I'm very happy with the results. This is definitely a beginner friendly tattoo gun!!!

  • Good for beginners! Just get more quality ink!!!
Pattern Name: M6 Tattoo Pen
I bought this to make tiny tattoos. The tattoos I have are holding up but the ink SUCKED! The ink does not last! The ink looks cheesy on the skin. Overall I don’t regret getting this but if you plan on purchasing this, get some high quality ink!
