  • Great effect for what I needed it to do
I primarily purchased this product to give me a "starry" night look on cards. The product certainly did not disappoint. I mixed a wee little bit with a drop of water, place a fine paint brush in and flicked on painted sky of card base. Wala, starry sky. Love this product. Works beautifully. I'm sure I will use for other applications as well. ... show more

  • Opaque White Ink, Perfect for Dip Pens when Diluted with Water
I purchased this ink for my dip pens and it is an opaque true white that dries with a smooth, elevated texture. It was well packaged and doubled-wrapped in two bubble wrap bags and shipped within a returnable Amazon bag. The ink is thicker than modpodge and has pieces of what looks like curdled milk or dried Elmer's glue. However, when I thoroughly mixed it with the handle of a plastic spork, the clumps quickly dissolved. By itself, it is to thick to use on calligraphy nibs, so I progressively added water to the top layer and continuously mixed until I achieved the perfect viscosity. I have only used this ink with my blue pumpkin nibs and assume it will also work well with my Hunt 101 and Hunt 513 nibs when watered down. The ink dries quickly within the container, which is a good thing in terms of the added water because it will quickly evaporate, but a bad thing in regards to the duration of the ink, so I suggest keeping it tightly closed when not in use and ALWAYS cleaning the mouth of the container and lid before storage. Its actual drying time on paper is very slow, but it's worth the waiting time because the white pops against colored paper and looks like an off-white creme colour on white paper. ... show more

  • Sooo. Gooood.
CONTEXT I needed white ink for a calligraphy project and wasn't quite sure what to use. After some research, I found that a lot of calligraphers swore by Dr. PH Martin's Bleedproof White, so I got on it ASAP! PROS - It's OPAQUE!!!! Oh my goodness, the opaqueness of this stuff is an absolute dream. ESPECIALLY if you're like me and like to use watercolors, this will absolutely change your life. - It is easy to use, ONCE you figure out how to use it (LOL). See my cons for more on this. - The ink is smooth to use and flows beautifully. CONS - When you initially open the bottle, the ink is VERY THICK. The consistency looks like goopy acrylic paint. So, if you were to use the ink with a nib pen or watercolor brush, you'd find very quickly, you CAN'T. So basically, you cannot use this straight out of the bottle. - To use it, you need to add water, BUT not too much and not too little (finicky little ink). You'll want to add just the right amount for your medium, naturally. For me, I added more water, as I do like the "watercolor" look and feel. If you aren't sure about where you should be, you can always watch a video on YouTube about it. - Because you have to add water to the ink, you'll likely need another little canister to store whatever you mix. Not a big deal if you're an artist, since you'll likely already have some extra paint pots. OVERALL I love this stuff. Once I figured out how to use it, I couldn't believe I didn't already have this in my arsenal. Whether you need it or not, great to have in your tool belt. ... show more
