After extending my stay in Portland into the winter/rainy season, I needed decent boots to handle the muck. Found this “used” pair of taller Docs that would cost less and arrive sooner than having my old blunnies shipped from home. My gamble on getting perfect, new boots that’d been returned for being the wrong size totally paid off! Better yet, I wore them all day right outta the box — zero breaking in required. US women’s shoe sizes can vary but EU 41 is my true north. I bought these in a 9; loose on bare feet but just right with wool socks. Easy to pull on and off, not at all tight around the ankle. High quality leather (mud rinses right off), smooth seams and excellent craftsmanship throughout. At almost 60, this is my first pair of Dr Martens ever and I am so happy I bought these. I'm normally a size 9 so that's what I ordered and I put Dr Scholl's Air-Pillo Memory Foam Insoles in them and they fit perfectly. SO COMFY. My toes are not squished and my heals don't hurt and I have enough arch support. These have become my go-to footwear and I will be getting rid of several other booties I own that do not offer this same level of comfort. ... show more

    • Absolutely incredible will murder your ankles
I love these shoes. I normally wear a women’s 9 and I think I bought a men’s 7. All reviews said to size down, but I am using these for work and need insoles in my work shoes so I knew the insoles would make up for the size difference and so went with my normal size. I love how they fit, they have just the right amount of insole to make me feel like a badass but not be inconvenient, they’re easy to clean and they look fantastic. Be prepared though of course for the break in period. I wore them every night to work for about 3 weeks before I really felt like they were truly broken in. I have permanent bruise/calluses on my ankles in the front and back where the top of the boot rubs my leg though. That’s a bit of a bummer but I’m pretty used to it. I didn’t do anything to speed up the break in process like use a hair dryer or anything because I was worried about stretching out the mouth of the boot, and honestly I’m glad I didn’t. They still fit very snugly around my ankle and fit like a dream on my foot. If you’re considering docs but don’t want the lace up ones these are the boot for you.     • The most comfortable go-to shoe!
I was super hesitant when I got them because they were more than I’ve ever spent on shoes in my life. But, Docs have always had rave reviews so after months of them being in my cart I finally saved up to get them and bit the bullet. When I first tried them on I was a little unsure if I liked them. I was so used to snug fitting shoes and I thought they made my feet look “big” and they had a little more room than I’m used to. But boy, little did I know they would become my favorite go to shoes! They’re so easy to slip on, super comfortable, go with basically everything and durable. I’ve worn them out on the town for a night out and my feet didn’t hurt at all walking around downtown all night. I also wore them riding ATV’s in backwoods Minnesota and hiking in Duluth, MN and they had such great traction and support. They only had a mild layer of dust and dirt that could easily be wiped off with leather cleaner (or a damp cloth) and they were good as new! I expect these to last for years to come seeing what I’ve worn them through already. I’m a little late to the party but I have definitely jumped on the Dr. Martens bandwagon :) **Edit/update: I have been wearing them in the snow this winter when the snow is mild and I don’t want to break out the snow boots. As long as you spray them with a water resistant solution you should be okay! My feet stayed warm (with thicker socks) and dry the whole time. Such a great year round shoe IMO. ... show more

    • Very Comfortable but Run Big!
I normally wear a size 9 in women's shoes/boots, but these run big (and slightly wider) so I went with a size 8, and they fit perfectly. Still plenty of toe wiggle room!! They are the perfect all-weather boot!! Definitely recommend, and can't beat the price! Very comfortable, not a heavy boot and super cute with a pair of leggings or jeans. ... show more

I love these boots. I have wide ankles and most chelsea boots are too narrow but these fit well. They took a little bit of getting used to breaking them in but then they have been super comfortable. They fit true to size with nice thick socks for winter. I do need to wear higher socks with them or they are a little bit rough on the front of my ankle. ... show more
