  • Great Sturdy Product! Does Exactly as Advertised!!
This is a phenomenal shot trainer and ball return piece of equipment. It does exactly as purported and has helped my son immensely. The iC3 is well constructed and was really quite easy to put together. Just follow the instructions exactly... simple as that. I think it took me around 45 minutes to put together but it would have been quicker since I was helping with dinner. My son shoots quite a bit everyday as part of his training and this allows him to be efficient with his time. To become a great shooter, one must have correct form and one must put in the reps to develop muscle memory. The net helps instill muscle memory for the correct trajectory of the ball, which aids the form. It is true that one can get several hundred shots off in a short period of time. I prefer to have the ball return directed to me. At that point, I can then pass the ball to my son so he can practice creating his shot pocket. Overall, this is a great product, which I would highly recommend! ... show more

  • WORTH IT!!!
Not going to lie. I was a tad skeptical. After assembling and having to make a few modifications to keep the balls from stopping on the net, it works SO WELL! I wish we would have bought this sooner. I am on a 6 month trial run and if we utilize as much as we are right now, I may have to upgrade to the automatic machine. ... show more

  • Great
Assembly wasn’t too bad , but it was well worth it. My 3 daughters have used this daily in the drive way. Stability and quality seems to be great and I don’t foresee any durability issues. Looking forward to many more years of shooting.

  • Great practice aid
Pretty fun for the drive way - forgetting practicing layups but if you want a good work out get a couple of balls going. I think it improves lazy arc resulting in flat shots. Especially good if you practice by your self or if you are the Dad passing to your kid to practice jump shots. A little heavy for kids to move and sometimes the ball gets stuck but overall good value. ... show more

  • I solved the basketball getting stuck
I can see over time how this product stands up, but I figured I'd post because at first this product seemed like a flop and it is pointed out in several reviews. The basketball gets stuck in the front of the goal, in between the basketball net and the trainer net. I adjusted the tension in a few different areas, as people mentioned that being helpful. But then I remembered the story (which turned out to be just a myth) of NASA spending millions on pens that would write in space and instead the Soviet Union used a $1 pencil. So I cut the basketball net up by just the very bottom knot (so about two or three inches) all around. The net still looks like a normal net, just a tad bit shorter, and I gave up trying to get the ball stuck after my many repeated attempts failed (those same attempts would previously get the ball stuck from those angles about 80% of the time). It's late and I need to get to bed, but tomorrow I have a theory about the ball bouncing out too often. It involves Tom Brady and a minor bit of deflate-gate. Setup was pretty easy overall, and the arc level seems just about right. The feeder, with that adjustment, works very well. ... show more

  • This thing is amazing!
My son spent the fall working really hard on his cross country running ... and his basketball shooting accuracy suffered. With tryouts coming up he asked for some way to get his shot rate up while practicing at home. I read reviews and decided to try the iC3. It's not the very easiest thing to assemble but even with the help of a 7- and 13-year old, it took less than an hour. We hoisted it up on to the rim, adjusted the pole standoff, and ... the thing just worked! Again and again and again - the ball goes in and it comes back to you. *Every* once in while the ball can hang up but if you're shooting with two balls (one after the other) the second ball will free the first. I can probably adjust things to reduce this even further. We used it over the Thanksgiving break, and it just kept right on working. My son could easily swing the ball return to where he wanted it. This contraption raises your shooting rate by 2-3X and by letting you stay put between shots it is much easier to concentrate on your form. Caveats - based on other reviews I made sure to get plenty of tension on the bottom of the net funnel. I suspect that any slack there will increase the stuck ball rate. Also, the net is well above the rim (which is a great thing for mid-range and out) but you'll want to take it off to close-in work. Two people can take it down and put it up quickly. The net extension rods collapse and fold up, making it something like a large fold-up chair with a weird extension for the ball return. All in all I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. ... show more

  • a great low cost alterative to shooting machines
the instructions that came with it were not as good as I would have liked, but they also have a youtube video that helped. Once built, this device is sturdy and does a good job of catching most misses. It really does make shooting practice more efficient. The only downside is that you cant use this for shots near the basket, but that's to be expected because of the size of this. Also, this can be used at the park or some other public hoop, but you will need a friend to help lift it to get it on the basket. The device is not that heavy, but its awkward to hold overhead by yourself. Im 6'7 and I have to lower my backyard hoop down to get it on there, then raise the hoop back up, so there's no way I can use this device by myself at a park. ... show more
