my daughter was holding her bottle at 4 mos, so when we transitioned, the first thing i liked about this product was that you could remove the "arms". I couldn't say it's completely leak proof- the remaining liquid in the straw will "leak" out if tipped over. but other than that, if you hold upside down, it will not leak any liquid from the cup and it has the protective cap that slides to cover the straw when not in use. it is easy to clean, but like classic dr brown a pain for some people because of the parts. you have to take it apart and clean with that fun mini brush! honestly I don't mind, but it deters people. my daughter preferred this over the other version that you have you hold up to the mouth. she had more control with the amount of liquid she was allowing and prevents gas bubbles. Great bottles. We used the previous version with the older child and got these new bottles for the 2nd child. These are much easier better so the handles fasten properly. the sliding closer is nice upgrade than before. It’s not completely leak proof but honestly no bottle is but this is a great compromise of flow and less leakage. We use it for milk and water. ... show more

our son is a picky tot - he took to these fast and easily. i will note, it does leak from the top at the spout especially if you refrigerate the cups so we stopped doing that. great quality and holds up against tot slams/throws!

    • Our favorite straw cups
I have twin 15 month olds and we have tried nearly every straw cup under the sun and these are my favorites. We have ordered 4 sets now. They do leak from the straw just a bit, but it is a small price to pay for not having to have hoover-like strength in order to get the milk out of the straw like some of the other brands. Also I think cleaning is a lot easier due to the straw coming apart so I am never really worried about mold like you get in some of the other brand straws.     • Nice cup, but the top slider is hard to use
Had to re submit my review for this cup. It was a little disappointing coming from DR Brown brand. As previously stated this still seemed like a nice cup and weighted straw is nice, however, slider on top is difficult to use and I definitely should of waited more then a week to post a review. Towards the end of the week both cups started to leak terribly. After really closely checking all the parts. Liquid comes from the straw just fine but this cup can’t be tilted with out it leaking everywhere. I took off a few stars because I bought some other cups and had to repost my review. ... show more

These sippy cups are amazing . They are leak proof . They are easy to wash. The handles make them super easy for my toddler to hold . They are super affordable . I highly recommend if you have toddlers . Dr brown never lets ya down

I started using these when my daughter turned 5 months old for water. She took to it right away. Both her dentist and doctor loved that we skipped a traditional sippy cup and went straight for this. It helps with the growth of baby teeth. I loved this product at first, but now that we are coming up to her 1-year birthday soon, we will be transitioning off the bottle completely, and I do not feel 100% confident about how to clean this. I wish the “ball” part on the bottom could come off the tube for a more thorough clean, especially as juices and milk start getting in. But since we've only used it for water so far, I can tell it is clean. Also, Grandma has issues sometimes because she does not pull on the top all the way, so it leaks occasionally.
