I read the reviews and was a tad bit skeptical and with that in mind I was a little biased when I received it. It was packaged really nice and packaged how a parent would pack something. Lol. It was wrapped in a plastic bag and taped down I’m assuming in case of a spill. I appreciate that. There was no damage upon delivery and it was delivered ahead of time after I got a notification of a delay in delivery. It was almost a week early. I appreciate that as well. Because of the reviews I was skeptical and was anticipating something going wrong. When I opened it to smell it I could of sworn that I smelled a chemical smell; but like I said before I was skeptical because of the reviews. Everyone in the house said that I was smelling something that was not there and that it still had that same “clean baby” smell to it. Lol. The color was different but I’m pretty sure it’s because of the volume of soap and the weather/ temperature. It was delivered while we were out of town and it sat on the porch for two days. I took a chance and mixed it with the little soap that I had left and it seems to be the same soap. The color evened out and it was the same good ol Bronners Hemp Unscented baby soap. I have sensitive skin and immune system because of lupus, thyroid disease and fibromyalgia and some more stuff and this is the only soap that doesn’t break me out, cause infections and have me smelling amazing. It gets me squeaky clean and because of that I have to lotion up, lol. But other than that this soap is amazing and the price is perfect! I usually get the soap for 14.00 from Walmart so this saves me a few dollars when it all adds up. Buy it! You won’t regret it! AND you can use it at camp grounds because it’s safe for the wild life and animals!

I try to keep a non-toxic and environmentally friendly home without going too crazy--meaning I do my best, but don't beat myself up if I can't. I originally bought a smaller bottle of this soap at my local health food grocery store, but started ordering this much larger bottle which is a better value than what I have available near me. I fill small hand soap pump bottles and keep them in my bathroom and my children's bathroom. I think this would also be great for those who have sinks in their laundry room as well. For my children, I use this a soap for feet and similarly dirty areas. I do not use this as a body wash on my children as I use something very moisturizing. One of my children has eczema and this soap has never had a negative effect on him. For myself, I use this as a general soap instead of bar soap and also mix one pump into my expensive body wash. The bodywash I use is very mild for sensitive skin and does not lather as well as I would like. One pump of the Dr. Bronner's does not irritate or dry out my skin and makes a wonderful rich lather. Because there is a neutral no-scent, I think it would mix well with any washes. I sometimes also use a pump when scrubbing out a stain on clothing and have had good experiences. Note that this soap is a little more liquid than a standard liquid soap. I have very hard water and we use a water softener which makes our water feel a little more "slimy" than I prefer, so I think this effects my experience, but the one thing I don't love about this soap and the reason why I don't use it as a handsoap in all my bathrooms and kitchen is that I don't like the way it feels washing off when just using pure Dr. Bronners. I always feel like I still have a little bit of soap left on my hands. Honestly, I don't, but I am left with that feeling. I know folks who also use this soap in their laundry, for their hair, and for a myriad other uses. For me, it's a staple in my home and we do go through it rather quickly, but I do not take advantage of the array of uses I know it is good for. I would highly recommend for any bar soap replacement, for a multipurpose good for you and good for the environment soap, and too boost any body wash.

I have used many kinds of soaps, organic soap, glycerine, Castile, tallow, liquid, other Dr. Bronners varieties, and they are all too harsh for my skin. I have combination skin bad, since I was a kid living in the humid east coast, I would get dry patches on hands, face, other sensitive areas, you get the idea. Now I live in an arid part of the mid west where humidity rarely breaches 25%. And I work outside so I pretty much have to take a shower and use soap. Not taking a shower isn't an option since I deal with the public. I use high grade all natural organic lotions, but even those don't cut it. Sometimes I make my own lotions with castor oil. But that doesn't cut it either. This soap is gentler than all other soaps I have used, and it is all natural and organic, and has higher quality oils added to it in place of fragrances that other Dr. Bronner soaps do not include. Liquid soap is easier on the skin because less lye is used so less of the oil is saponified. Hard soaps can also leave lye in the soap bar, which is quite acidic, a harsh chemical that is very volatile and drys skin out faster than curing concrete (seriously). A high quality hard soap wont have residue lye, but low quality soaps can. Soap strips oil, but this soap has just the right amount of moisture in it, and certainly won't leave you feeling dirty or oily. But I still need to use lotion after. You can add fragrance to this just by adding your own natural oil if you want, which makes it more versatile. You can make multiple batches of different scents if you have spare bottles. This stuff is concentrated and will likely last a family of three half a year. It can be diluted with water in spare bottles. Hope that helps.
