I bought this in hope that mosquitoes will no longer find me appetizing. First of all, I love the idea that this soap is made with biodegradable ingredients. There are so many products out there that are harmful to our body and the environment. Besides repelling bugs, I’m using this to be more conscious of what I can do to help our planet. The smell is strong and I feel squeaky clean! I think this is a great value for the pack and I plan on purchasing more. It’s wrapped in paper which you can recycle and I love that it is not rough on my skin. I love how clean my skin feels after using this!

I stopped using the name brand bar soaps and the name brand liquid body cleansers for my showers. My skin was dry, and my skin started itching more and more over the years. I realized that it is possible, in order to cut costs, some of the brand company’s may have changed their manufacturing process and/or changed the ingredients in the body soap they sell. I don’t know this for sure, however as soon as I stopped brand soap and started using Dr. Bonners Pure castle Bar soap, My skin feels soft, clean , and does not itch anymore. This citrus scent is mild, and I love it. Years ago, my Mother and Grandmother used Pure Castle Bar Soap. I recall they had issues with itchy skin too, so I decided to try this , and I love it. This organic bar soap costs more than the brand soaps, however, the ingredients are so much better for my skin.

I bought this soap several months ago after researching some of the questionable ingredients in my shampoo and body wash. I have also been trying to reduce my plastic waste, and these bars help a lot because I no longer need to buy shampoo, body wash, and shaving cream. I love the mild scent of these bars. It is refreshing but not overpowering. The soap lathers nicely and works great as a shampoo. The bar lasts for a long time if you use it correctly (1-2 months). Keep it in a soap dish and don't run it under water for long, it only needs a quick swipe under running water. You should also lather it in your hands rather than using the bar directly on your body. The only time I put the bar directly on my body is when I do a few swipes through my hair, which I find easier than trying to lather up enough for shampooing. There are only two downsides I can find to using this soap. The first is the price. Normally I find that purchasing things off of amazon saves money, but in this case, you are better off to check a local store to see if they have it. I found a store that carries it for about $4.19 per bar, while these run about $5.40 per bar. However, if you cannot find a place near you that sells these, I find that it is cheaper to purchase these two packs from amazon than it is to order from the original website, based on shipping. The second downside is that this soap can dry your skin out. I first purchased this in the winter, and I noticed that my skin was getting very dry. It is important to moisturize occasionally after using this soap. I don't have many problems with it now that it's nearly summer, but I still moisturize occasionally. Overall, this is a great soap for those who want to save money, be better to the environment, and reduce the amount of questionable things they are putting on their bodies. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: I still love Dr. Bronner's soap, but I've found that my skin is just too sensitive to use it. My skin dried out very badly over the last year and a half. I have since started making my own soap, which is both fun and cost-effective. By making my own soap, I can control how cleansing and moisturizing it is; something that can't be done when buying it. I still love Dr. Bronner's and I will always recommend it, but you may do better with handcrafted soaps from a small soapmaker if you have very sensitive skin.

I had to wait a bit for this product but was well worth it. It was nicely packaged. Wasn’t damaged and didn’t look like it was thrown in a bag. Smells nice too. Not overpowering. Overall, good service.

Dr Bonner's is the only soap product I can use daily without drying my skin out and leaving me itchy with a mild rash. Been a soap sensitive type all my life and I've probably tried half the soaps in the grocery store before landing on Bonner's a few years ago. This citrus scent is nice, strong-ish while using but not overpowering and it doesn't linger on you after you are done. My complaints are that it is VERY expensive. It's borderline worth it to me so I'm happy but unless all other soaps leave you uncomfortable already I can't see justifying this price. It is also a very soft soap meaning it seems to use up fairly quickly. If left wet at all and the water isn't allowed to drain off it gets mushy and starts to squish apart, using it up even faster.
