I don't usually write reviews, but I want to address negative comments about the packaging of the liquid soap I purchased online. Accidents can happen during shipping, so negative reviews are simply the result of an unfortunate incident. These unique soaps aren't commonly found in stores, so if you buy online, be aware of the risk. My package arrived the next day and I'm happy with my purchase. I was looking for a replacement for my feminine wash, Honey Pot, due to a change in its formula and also for religious reasons. I think reviews involving personal care products need to remind readers everyone has a different body chemistry and what might work for one may not for another. Having said that, if you decide to try Dr. Bonner's products, it is very important you read the instructions and follow them. If the product you purchase recommends a companion Dr. Bonner product, I strongly urge you to get it as well. These products seem to be designed to work well together. Also, having tried 3 commercial hair conditioners, they do not necessarily play well with this soap when used as a shampoo. I've always had skin sensitivities to detergents, shampoo, conditioners, soap, etc, since I was an infant. However, about 10 years ago, it blossomed into a full blown allergy. Then about 3 years ago, I also developed an allergy to any products (not just personal care products) which contained perfumes of any kind. My sister brought me a bottle of "Dr. Bronner's Organic Baby Unscented Sugar Soap" to try, having been told it could be used on my hair as well. It worked exceptionally well, but left my hair feeling unpleasant in a number of ways. (Note: NO perfume scents of any kind.) After reading a lot of reviews, I also purchased "Dr. Bonner's Hair Conditioner Rinse - Citrus" and "Dr. Bonner's Organic Hair Creme - Peppermint". I carefully followed the instructions and have found both products do exactly as promised, leaving my hair manageable, clean and nice to the touch. If anything, I think my scalp has even improved in that I no longer see as much flaking. (And for those interested, I've tried every conceivable product designed for scalp itchiness, flakiness, etc. -- none had any effect and most made the problem worse.) I will admit, I was loath to spend more money on a product which didn't state it was scent free. However, these scents don't appear to be artificial and peppermint (the hair creme) and citrus (rinse) not only don't bother me, they even have a nice scent. If I were to guess, though, the scent doesn't last long, since none of my 3 grand daughters (who live with us) have said anything -- they are generally the first to notice because of their concern about my allergies. The basic instructions are to: 1) wash your hair and rinse with water; 2) mix 1 capful of the hair rinse with 8 oz water and pour slowly over your hair to remove your soap/shampoo; 3) towel dry and add hair creme. My steps are a bit more, only because I like to wash my hair twice. (It's a baby boomer thing, folks.) 1) wash my hair with a glycerin soap; 2) wash my hair with Dr. Bonner's baby soap; rinse with water, squeeze out water; 3) rinse my hair with diluted (see above) Dr. Bonner's hair rinse; 4) gently towel dry; 5) using a very, very small amount of hair creme spread across my palms, I gently rub it into a section of hair and repeat for each section. I then use a comb to help evenly disperse the creme. Note: Near as I can tell, I can use either just the glycerin bar soap or just Dr. Bonner's baby soap provided I finish with his rinse and creme. I continue to use the glycerin soap for the first wash because it's quite inexpensive at my local dollar store. I actually prefer Dr. Bonner's baby soap as a shampoo (easier to use), but since I wash my hair twice, this is solely a means to control expenditures. My only complaint: hair cleaning now takes me considerably longer than it did before ... 10 minutes vs 1-2 minutes. ... show more

The first time I found this product was at TJ Maxx and it was at the amazing price of 799 for the same 24 ounce bottle. Let’s just say that I have never experienced such luxury in a bottle before it was the scent for me. It was the texture for me and it was the way that it made my skin feel and smell. My skin felt so moisturized and soft after usage. In addition, I use this under my arms as a deodorizer, and I don’t feel like I am loading myself with heavy, toxic chemicals. All of the ingredients in this bottle are naturally derived and very gentle for all skin types , the price that you pay, for this is absolutely worth every penny because of its benefits. I have a very delicate skin. The fact that it is natural is important. Castile soap is very gentle on my skin. The refreshing feeling of the peppermint is long lasting and the soap keeps a long lasting clean smell on my body. I definitely recommend it for everybody, from children to adults.

    • Broken lids almost every time

I love this soap so much but y'all should consider a different packaging situation because it always comes with a broken lid and leaks all over the inside of my package. If you would just put some like Styrofoam around the lids to protect it that would really help or even just tape the lids down onto the bottle that would even work.
