I wanted a butter bell for ready-to-spread butter and I love vintage and retro stuff so this fit my style perfectly! It’s super cute, it’s ceramic, keeps butter fresh yet spreadable and can fit a whole stick of it at a time! Don’t listen to the people who say their butter molded, it was likely just user error as if you fill water to the fill line on the inside, the seal works perfectly and the butter won’t get all old and nasty. Butter tastes great even after sitting in the butter bell for a few days, and I’m glad for the fill line so I know exactly where to fill it to get the best seal! In my experience I haven’t had the butter fall out of the bell at all so it stays in quite nicely even as the amount of butter is depleted. Fun, cute addition to your kitchen, easy to use, and once again don’t doubt this product based off some people’s user error! Would totally recommend!

I got the soft white one and though I haven't used it yet, I can say that it's well made and not full of pockmarks where they didn't use enough glaze in the manufacturing. I have used a butter bell before in the past, though, so I know they work, and I'm just commenting on the quality of this one. It's more yellow in real life than what's shown online and whereas I used to like the "candleglow" color, I'm really annoyed with the yellowness of it at this point because so many sellers market "off white" products just like this one, when the product is actually an overly yellow ecru or banana creme color or something. I wouldn't even notice, except that it happens way to much and makes everything look dingy and stained. Anyway, aside from that, this is a good butter bell. I had narrowed my search down to this one and another, but I chose this one because it was cuter. I anticipate getting good use out of this, and I recommend it to anyone who's interested!

Functions just as expected. I had considered a different style with more of a knob type handle on top. Glad I went with this style. The cover on this dish sits nicely on the countertop while getting the butter out due to the nice flat top. I would recommend this dish.

I live in the South, and leaving butter on the counter leads to mold and rotting, but this cute crock protects the butter from the air with a water barrier that prevents that. And now I always have spreadable butter at a moments notice.

Can't believe I didn't order this sooner lovely jar I got the gray with the white lid and keeps my butter fresh and spreadable I was so surprised the cool temperature even with the jar sitting on the counter for several days. Some people on here had complained their butter melted or it fell to the bottom I don't think they realized there's a small line that you need to feel clean fresh bottled water preferably to that line and then put the lid on after you fill it completely with butter. Since there were no instructions that's why they probably did not have a good experience with this but I would highly recommend it going to buy several as gifts for my friends and family. UPDATE HAD FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS BUT BUTTER HAS BEEN GETTING RANCID AND ANYWHERE YOU ACCIDENTALLY TOUCH BELL IT WILL GROW BACTERIA VERY HARD TO AVOID THAT. JUST NOT WORTH POSSIBLE CONTAMINATION

I have had this item for almost 1.5 years. Contrary to the claims, the moisture from the water seems to cause the butter to get mold quickly. I have unfortunately had to throw out butter that has gone bad when there is water in the reservoir. I followed all of the instructions, but the butter was going bad. I continue to use it, because I can keep the butter out of the open air and it remains soft. I just keep the reservoir empty.
