Never having used one of these types of platform mattresses before, I was pleasantly surprised. It arrived vacuum seal packed in a 5'3" tall x 11" wide, approximately 79 lbs in weight, box. There was help getting it inside to the bedroom where it was unfurled directly to the Amazon purchased, platform foundation. One thing I am disappointed with is I ordered a 12 inch and this is only 11 inches in height, and a little bit smaller than my 16" deep pocket, queen size sheet sets. I hemmed and hawed and read too many reviews, plus, asked around about these over the past couple of years to have a bit of an understanding and expectation of how these actually work before I finally ordered this well made one made by Dourxi. I was able to order ahead of time and lucky enough to let it expand for the Dourxi recommended, FULL THREE days, before trying it out. With that said, this is a VERY well made mattress from a box in my opinion! And, I would purchase Dourxi again based on my excellent sleep experience with this mattress. This is also well sewn with quality seams and trim. The casing is soft to touch but my mattress protector and sheets completely encase the beautiful material and trim so I don't understand why people talk about that. There was NO odor or ANY chemical smell that released from it at ALL. The box says 'natural and organic', but I don't really know if that is true or not. What I do know is that it hasn't caused me any headaches, back, hips, or lupus flare ups. So far, my experience is it's very comfortable sleeping on it. I ordered the plush medium soft and it's exactly what I wanted. I do not like firm, hard, or full sinking into, memory foam mattresses. I have previously had and slept on well known Casper, Denver, Serta, Sleep by Number, etc. and those hurt my back and hips. Plus, I couldn't afford thousands of dollars to hit or miss this time around. So far, this plush medium soft Dourxi is a very comfortable experience for me and my troublesome back and hips to sleep on. Amazon also had this one on an affordable deal, and I am VERY glad I ordered it! Bought this for my 10 year old; I've laid on it to read stories and hang out so I can't vouch for how it is to sleep on for an extended period. But I can confirm that it is very squishy, bouncy, doesn't have a supportive or firm edge. But my daughter loves it. She gets up every morning telling me she slept well. When you lay on it, it feels pretty firm, like you won't be sinking at all, but if you sit on the edge, it sinks down quite a lot, so the sitting experience is rather poor. We are doing co-sleeping with my baby who just started to roll and crew all around, I couldn’t have a good night sleep at all in worrying him fall from the bed. After some research, we noticed the bed rails are not recommended as there are so many incidents happened where baby’s head being stocked in between and death from those incidents. Thus after touring some day care places I started to look for some alternative solutions which is doing the futon style and sleep with the baby on the mattress on the floor so even if he falls from the mattress, no much harm to his body. We had an expensive sleep number bed, there the pump connects to the mattress and I couldn’t put the mattress down to the ground thus I had to look into other mattress which is how I found this one. Originally I bought it as the temp solution for the kid before he can sleep independently, but after I received this product and slept on it for three weeks already, I am really impressed with the quality of the mattress given it’s price. I didn’t feel any back pain moving from my experience (like 3000) mattress to this one! The experience may vary person to person based on their weights, but in my situation (I’m around 100 lb) this mattress is perfect! It is plush but provide very good support at the locations where being pushed down. I’m usually a firm bed person, but this one just worked for me so well! And also I originally worried about the firmness for baby too, it also turned out to be a no issue. I took a snap of him when he is sleeping on his side, the spine is perfectly straight! This is really a great purchase I have made and now I can sleep comfortably and worry free with my baby, and he also occasionally play on the bed during the daytime practicing rolling, crewing, and sitting at a super affordable price. ... show more

Update: I slept the first night in this mattress and I am impressed at many levels. 1. Although the instructions say that it takes 48 hours for the mattress to inflate, mine did so in less than 5 minutes. 2. The mattress doesn't have any smells. 3. It is very comfortable, it supports the body well, while molding to it. 4. It is a great value for the price, and it's delivered to your doorsteps. I only wish I had found it sooner ❤️ I have not used this mattress yet, but wanted to say thanks to Dourxi for shipping it to our APO. We are a military family living abroad, faced with language barrier and limited resources. Buying a good mattress and having it transported to our home would have been difficult and expensive. I looked at dozens of mattresses in Amazon, and Dourxi was the ONLY one I found who would ship to APO, a military address abroad.
