This tape works great, clings really well to smooth surfaces and can be removed with no residue marring the surface – quite a bit of work to pull it off as it adheres well. Not sure how well this may work on raw floor substrates, for carpet. But for keeping rugs from moving around it works wonders: solved my stairs steps rugs problem. The product pictures shows this can be torn by hand: well, it can, but not nicely. Scissors are the right tool. Once set in place, taking off the top layer to expose the sticky surface is easy, much easier than other such tapes I have used. Maybe because it is very fresh. I used this lightweight mesh tape to hold down heavy shelf liner made of coated mesh fabric. First, I taped two pieces of the shelf liner together, then I taped the overlapped shelf liner to cabinet floor under the sink. Thankfully the tape was not permanent on the first application because it took several attempts to align the pattern. Only a small bit of material came off the surfaces each time and the tape remained sticky enough on each side to firmly grip on the final application. Unlike many double-sided tapes, it was pretty easy to remove the backing, which made the job a snap. I would recommend this tape for any application that might require re-work or may eventually need to be removed. ... show more
