Note: if you’re here because you got the fault, clean the thermostat inside, it might help as well. I got a few extra cooks out of mine before I had to replace the igniter. Fit my grill perfectly and probably cheaper than OEM. Watch the Pit Boss videos to do the install. It’s really easy but if you pull the cables out without a pull string, you’ll be in a for a major project. Probably a “take your whole grill apart” project. This ignitor was used to replace a unit in a Pit Boss "Pro Series" smoker. I was replacing the burn-pot, so decided to replace the ignitor also, while it was a part (the old one was still working). Time will tell if it lasts... the original one was 4+ years old, so we'll see. It was a good value for $10. It fit perfectly, was virtually identical to the OEM one; plugged right in to the factory wiring harness, and got hot just like the original! Smoker back on-line! ... show more

Although there were no directions on how to replace it sent with the product, I was able to find a YouTube video to help me with this process. I installed it on the table top model, little more difficult than the bigger models. I ended up cutting the hex vent in the back of the grill to install it. The igniter works like it should.

I had been having issues with my ignitor in my Pit Boss Laredo 1000 pellet grill. This was an exact fit and super easy to replace. Replacement took approximately 15 minutes, with the majority of that time being taking covers off and replacing them.
