The media could not be loaded. I saw someone's opinion about the lid not staying down, so I added a latch. It works well, plus if I store my crucible inside, there's less chance of it falling out if the smelter gets tipped over. I've tried melting some pop cans for starters... But I think I'm too new at this smelting and could use more tips. I couldn't get the cans to become completely liquid. It may have had too much contaminant from the coating on the cans. Not knowing much then... I put too much heat and melted the iron fittings at the end of the burners... Good thing they're designed to be replaceable. I do agree that the gloves are too thin, but at least you get something to use. The tongs are fine for picking up the crucible, but it'd be nice to get something else that can cup the crucible better later on. And per another opinion I read about the paint coming off... Nope it holds up well. Either way if it did, go put some more on and quit being a princess. I'm glad I purchased this furnace over the other ones I've seen on Amazon, and it works fairly well to me. If it can melt those iron pipe fittings, I suppose it can do more than cans. I'll give it a shot later with more materials laying around. ... show more

The threads did not line up I tried to email and never got a response there was no number to call I just wanted a new part now I have to return the whole burner was unable to use disappointing because it was a gift

My burner arrived with some damages from shipping (which I had repaired myself). I had posted a review that explained the situation, and within hours the seller contacted me. We discussed the situation and the seller has claimed that they will do their best to make packaging better to prevent this in the future. I believe them.     • Cheaply made
This is very cheaply made and not to the best quality. The layer of insulation in the lid never is adhered at all and falls down when shut. The lid doesnt close all the way nothing to help hold it closed. The crucible is a great big size but you have no way of pouring it with what is provided, you can barely fit the crucible inside with both burner heads sticking in the way. The paint instantly burned off the lid first time it was lit. The gloves broke down super quick and easily caught fire and only proteced from head for a few seconds. I would buy a cheaper one or make my own if i had it to do again. Not worth the money. ... show more

Totally disappointed with this quality , looks like a package of mess. It cannot be fired on at all. Disappointed with its quality. Also, the temperature reading meter doesn't work properly & unreadable, this leads to my safety concerns. 😮💨😤👎NOT Recommended 👎😮💨😤
