Fits 2001 Ford Ranger with no power options. Took maybe an hour or less to put in. I had taken the door panel off before so it wasn't entirely new. Just 5 screws total and panel lifts right off. There's youtube videos for it. It took several tools - phillips screw driver, something to pop the door handle cover off, a hex-rod screw driver for the door handle screw, and a socket wrench set for the 3 screws for the side mirror itself. When taking those 3 screws off, tilt the socket wrench upward at the socket-end so the screw doesn't want to drop off the end of the socket! Otherwise it will drop inside the door body and be very hard to recover! When installing the new mirror, also maybe put a small piece of tape on that screw and the socket, again so they won't want to drop off the socket into the door body when reinstalling. Remove the tape if you can with a long-node pliers of something once the screw gets started. If it's still there the next time you have to replace the side mirror(!), it may get in the way and knock the screws off the socket wrench into the door body the next time! That almost happened on one of mine! Do the final tightening of the 3 side mirror screws a little bit at a time in sequence and jiggle the side mirror a little to make sure it sets in place nicely. Also, keep the window rolled all the way down. That makes it easier to push the little door lock stick/rod back into the door panel hole when reattaching the door panel. ... show more
