The mirror needed a little persuasion to get it installed. Initially, it would not click in. When it did, I appreciated the struggle because the mirror was very secure. When I sat in the car, I saw the funhouse mirror effect. I thought, I should have listened to the reviews. I did give it a few firm presses in the direction of the funhouse effect. I heard a click and the mirror was perfect! There is no “objects appear smaller” printing on the mirror. If you are replacing an auto dimming light, the initial brightness will play havoc on your eyes. You should adapt to it in a day or so. For 5% of the cost of the GM auto dimming, I can not complain. It is thiner than the original one, but fit perfectly. Warming is quite correct but on a small zone on the center, not all the mirror. By the way it is perfect for the price !

Who on earth would think that a simple factory mirror could go a pink color and badly reduce visibility?? Well that is what happened. I had already purchased the passenger side one when I accidently smashed it. So I went back for the drivers side one. PERFECT.

Came back from a trip to find my original mirror on my 2006 suburban was broken. This was an exact replacement, clear mirror, with heater. Installation was quick - hardest part was removal of the old one. If doing it again, I'd wear eye protection and/or cover it with masking tape, as the mirror will break when removing it. Also, have glass cleaner handy to clean the new one after installing it. ... show more

I bought this mirror as a replacement for the driver's side mirror on my 2002 GMC Sierra Denali as the original mirror had started to separate from the housing. I was a little bit afraid that this replacement wouldn't be sufficient given that the reviews are hit or miss with how it fits and looks, but I'm very pleased to say that this mirror is fantastic for the price, and is pretty easy to install. I'm not sure why other's have had issues installing it but for my model vehicle it went on fine. The hardest part of the installation was applying enough pressure to fully seat all of the clips on the back. Maybe this is part of the reason why some people claim the mirror doesn't fit, because it takes a surprising amount of force to attach. I found that it was made a little easier by slightly bending the clips on the new mirror backwards, but it still was kind of difficult. Others have claimed that the optical quality of the mirror is poor but I also don't find this to be the case. The mirror ships with a protective plastic layer that should be peeled off. Once taken off the mirror is almost indistinguishable from the original. Overall I'd highly recommend this product for the price. ... show more

    • Backing plate doesn't fit.
It didn't fit. The mounting plate on the back doesn't fit. They suggested taping it on. If you wanted me to tape it on you should have given me the tape.

My 2001 Suburban has the auto-dim mirrors but that didn't concern me so this replacement fit fine and was really easy to install. Not sure what others are talking about, mine snapped in place just fine with no issues. Does have the leads for the heated mirror so that's good.
