    • Turned off my check engine light!
This was exactly the part I needed to replace on my 2011 Ford Escape Hybrid. It was an absolute pain to install, not by fault of the part at all, but because it is just a difficult spot to reach under the hood. It took me about 2 hours to do it and I'm not much of a "car guy" beyond doing my own oil changes. My check engine light came on about 3 years ago during a long road trip, but then turned off a few days later. Then it popped back on and off two or three more times before coming on and staying on a couple of months ago. A code reader at the local auto parts store told me that the problem was the engine was running too cold because my engine coolant thermostat was stuck open. I didn't see anything obviously wrong with the old one when I took it out (it looked almost exactly the same as this one), but upon installing the new one, the check engine light has gone off and my mileage has increased about 10%, which is a nice bonus with $5 gas. ... show more
