  • Solid Replacement
My 2006 Mustang V6 had a factory thermostat housing that had a crack and distorted only when the engine was full hot and even then the leak was fairly small. Made finding the leak a hair pulling endeavor. This is the solution to replacement of a leaking plastic thermostat housing. Made of machined aluminum that won't crack or distort. Has been rock solid since installation. Get one, install it and rest easy. ... show more

  • not finished
the top of the thermastat water outlet should have been ground on the top for throttle body housing clearance.

  • Better Than OEM
They should be metal like this from factory. It fit perfectly and it fixed the leak. Hopefully it lasts a long time unlike the plastic factory one

  • Great, but had issues. -- Standard tx87 sensor
Hose that came with it didn't fit - had to reuse old one. The included sensor died after 1 year - was able to replace with Standard tx87. Other than that, the piece is good quality and has worked great.

  • A must for all 2005-2010 Mustangs
My Mustang has 250,000 miles. I've replace the plastic Thermostat housing three times with another plastic one. The metal one should be the last time.

  • Temperature sensor failed in 3 months. No replacement available!
The temperature sensor failed on mine within 3 months. Dorman will not warranty it and they will not sell me a sensor separately. I have to purchase a complete new unit! Plus the sensor is different than the Ford sensor, so cannot use the original sensor. DO NOT BUY THIS Better to stick with the OEM unit that lasted 15 years before failing. ... show more

  • I did not receive this item in time but it's a good product when I see of it online
Amazon took too long. I needed it in a pinch so I bought another it was cheaper quality but it came faster

  • Everything is great besides the temp sensor
I've gone through 3 plastic thermostat housings in the 10 years I've had my Mustang. Having a metal one provides better piece of mind and will hopefully not have to be replaced for a very long time. I'm happy with this replacement for the most part, but loses a star due to the failure of the temp sensor in a short time and the fact that it uses a non-oem one with little information to find a replacement. A big thank you to Dave Stetts' review on here as I was able to put in a Standard Motor Products TX87. His review is the only place I could find on the web that mentioned a replacement for the metal housing. ... show more
