Need to remove the power outlet/cigarette lighter from your FCA vehicle? If so, this is a MUST HAVE tool. Worked great to remove the outlet from my FIAT 500x. Only needed the tool, not the replacement socket (which is not compatible with my 500x), but that's okay.

I purchased this set for the tool. Power sockets have a mostly universal bore diameter of 21mm. However, for the tool to work, the T-tips must be able to completely fit through the lock tab windows on opposite sides of the bore. The window dimensions are NOT so universal. For my application (Mini Cooper / BMW), the tool tips (3.6mm tall) were too large to fit through the windows (just under 3mm tall) to push out the lock tabs. Grinding 1mm off the tip height (easily done with a Dremel and/or flat file) solved the problem. Also, rounding off the bottom corners will make it much easier to swing the tool into position without digging into the walls of the bore. So if you find the tool is extremely difficult (or impossible) to angle into position, do NOT try forcing it, or you may get the oversized tips permanently stuck in undersized windows. Instead, try notching the tips. This is necessary because the tool is 23mm wide, and if the first inserted tip cannot easily fit/protrude through its window by almost 2mm, you will never have enough clearance to drop the opposite side into position. Once the second tip drops into place, you may then have to re-center the tool in the bore so that the lock tabs are pushed out equal amounts before pulling out the socket.

Amazon told me this would fit my 2004 Dakota, but I'm not sure that it does. I was able to maneuver it into the correct slots to relieve the retention clips, but it dug into the plastic bezel so far the bezel would not release the tool. Had I known, I would have filed the ends of the 'T' part down a little, but once it was in, it was good and stuck. In the end I had to violently force it out bezel and all, which was difficult and not how the lighter socket was meant to come out. Then I had to use the edge of a workbench and a hammer to gently tap the old socket out of the bezel before I could install a new socket. Also, the gray plastic based socket that came with it did not fit the wiring connector for my truck. Luckily I had purchased the blue based socket just in case, and that one did fit.

Got it snapped it in and it works fine. Had to return two from different companies with the same looking socket. Has a solid light blue base. Ridge was on the wrong side on both. Compare your old one to the pictures carefully. But I would recommend this one definitely.

At first you'll probably think it's too big for the socket, I can assure you it isn't. It is a tight fit but it will get the job done with a little force. I was able to remove the outlet underneath my radio and the one located in the center console. Quick heads up, the outlet that comes with the tool is a replacement for the center console outlet not the one under the radio.

The removal tool works fine. It is made of aluminum, so it is easy to bend. But it got the job done with a bit of force. The lighter socket does NOT fit the 2013 RAM. There are a number of pictures here in the review section. The RAM uses the BLUE socket. The grey socket is keyed wrong.
