Yes, string. Singular. It spans the length of my daughter's twin bunk beds. It does come with clips, but they're plastic and do break. Her younger sister moved the curtain and snapped a clip. These were nice, but definitely NOT blackout curtains. I ended up having to improvise and double up, and it still let in some light through the material. If I were to do it again, I would probably return it and buy something else.

If you are expecting a version that completely blocks light, unfortunately, this product will not fulfill your wish. It can reduce light intensity but cannot entirely block it.

I like the fit very cute once on however the material is so thin it ripped at grommets first week on. I will try to reinforce and fix but definitely needs reinforcement along grommet area.
