I like this purse so well. There is nothing I don't like about it. The quality of D&B remains superb.; and has not changed over the years that I have been purchasing them. I am thankful that D&B has not cut back on quality like some many other Co. have to save $. With D&B you still get what you pay for- beautiful leather products. This is one of my favorites...JUST RIGHT for me. When i first received it, I was leery when opened box due to that it had a Green Dot on the plastic. Reviews that I have read ( which is a lot ) gave me the impression of to "beware" of defects. Well, purse was not at all defective, but as close to perfect one could get. Can you tell that I am very happy with every Dooney & Bouke that I have ordered. That leaves no room to score them any less than 100%. Excellent product! ... show more

I purchased the Dooney & Bourke Florentine Small Satchel in ivy color. Purchase price through Amazon was $276 with free S&H. This was a good deal compared to the deal offered by QVC which charges the full retail price of Dooney plus cost of S&H. I returned this lovely handbag because my dislikes outweighed the likes. Likes: 1) High quality luggage leather, 2) Real Brass hardware around the bag was a lovely "gold"-like color but not overwhelming yellow...just the right kind of yellow gold. I believe the brass yellow will never change with time, 3) Interior lining of bag was very well made and red in color, 4) Nice interior pocket with zipper, another open interior pocket and on the opposite side were two pockets - one for cell phone and another for say make-up. 5) Price was reasonable as this handbag sells at a higher price, but perhaps my purchase price was lower because ivy color may be less popular. Dislikes: 1) As other reviewers have said, the opening of the handbag (i.e., "mouth") is too narrow for the size of the bag. One has to the literally peep into the bag with your head closer to the bag's mouth in order to find where what is kept. I had to put my iPad vertically into the bag and then change the angle to make the iPad stand horizontally (i.e., longer side cannot fit in directly through the bag's mouth). 2) To test the heavy weight of this bag (as other reviewers claimed), I carried this bag for 1 whole day during a trip to NYC to see Statue of Liberty/Ellis island ( I took public transportation during which I have hold on to the bag every minute of the trip). I held the bag with the longer strap straight on both of my shoulders (alternatively) and sometimes cross-body. Sometimes, I held the bag with the shorter handle in my elbow. No matter which way I tried, the bag was too heavy on my shoulders or crutch of my elbow. Through the entire NYC trip, it felt like I was "lugging" an in-flight carry-on suitcase all-day long. All I had in my bag was my wallet, eye class case, my phone, my iPad Air, a make-up compact, and my keys which I attached to the key fob. It was MUCH TOO HEAVY to be a ladies' handbag (should've been called a luggage bag). Therefore, back it went!!! Too bad...I loved the quality of the bag, but the weight of the bag and the narrow mouth of bag was too much to imagine enduring in the long-run. On top of all of this, Amazon, had me return this bag to a ILoveDooney.com mailing address with a POBox number, and I had to pay for the return shipping cost. Could not ship this through UPS...had to take it to the post office. I would not recommend this bag in any color, unless you want a bag with a luggage weight. ... show more
