  • Great for the price, but a little big to be super portable.
This keyboard piano is straightforward to set up and meets all the essential requirements for a budget-friendly instrument. It is important to note that it is indeed a budget piano, so don’t anticipate any extraordinary features. The sound quality of the built-in speakers is adequate, which aligns with its budget-friendly nature. However, it appears to be somewhat large, which might make it less convenient for portability. If you are in search of a keyboard that is easy to carry for practice or performances, you might want to consider other options. Overall, it offers very reasonable quality for its price, making it an excellent choice for students or young individuals who are just beginning to learn piano. ... show more

  • It's adequate
I'll start by saying that Donner delivered exactly what they said they would in the listing. There is one bit of potentially misleading description but it's not outright false. In general they say this is a beginner instrument package with everything you need to start playing and they are correct. The potentially misleading bit is that they refer to the keyboard's "comfortable touch and responsive feel", which is not wrong, but it comes close to saying "touch responsive" which is a common name for a feature this keyboard does not have. To be as plain as I can be, this is a budget product and it's not bad, but it's also not good. I'm giving it 4 stars because it feels like there are a lot of cut corners, not because there is any one thing I can point to and say "this was broken". Nothing in the kit is fancy. It does the job of letting you play music, to a minimum standard where it won't cause bad habits or general frustration, but not to the standard of sounding like anything but a cheap keyboard. I got this for my 7 year old to play around with, and so far that has worked out. The kid has smashed every key, rolled their eyes through a basic lesson on how to play keyboard, and then sat with it for half an hour trying to make a song. Not bad for day one. As far as how it sounds, it sounds exactly like every other inexpensive keyboard. It uses the "general MIDI soundfont" and if you set it to preset 1 you'll get a piano, if you set it to 127 you'll get "applause", and in both cases they sound just like basically every other inexpensive keyboard made in the last 30 years. Donner did extend this with a bunch of additional sounds which to my ear often sound better than the general MIdI presets, but you need to step through all the presets one at a time to get to a preset and the keyboard forgets the last preset when powered off so I wonder how many people will actually find and use preset 238. From a playing perspective the keyboard feels good in a soft touch organ-keyboard way that will annoy people who like piano keyboards but is nice for low stress playing. It's not an amazing keyboard but the feel is probably the best thing about this kit. Note that it is not touch/velocity sensitive so you don't have control of dynamics (volume) unless you push the volume buttons (but that resets to "fairly loud" every time you power the keyboard off). The stand is OK. The included headphones are too small to be comfortable for me but I think the expected user is a younger child. I think if you have a child under 13 who wants to learn music but has zero experience, this is good enough to see if they stick with it. The lack of velocity sensing is probably not a big issue, and this will work for home practice of finger exercises or just trying to play familiar tunes. I think it will be outgrown by most people within a year or so with practice, but even if you "outgrow" it, it still makes music. ... show more

  • Nice keyboard and has everything that you need
This bundle contains everything that you need to start to play keyboard. It even comes with a stand, although you can rest the keyboard on a table if you want. The headphones are decent, but not great, and it comes with all of the necessary cables. Overall, the quality is good for a beginner. I really like this item. If you want a good, economical value in an instrument, Donner provides a good product. Recommended, ... show more

  • Awesome beginner's setup
This keyboard set has pretty much everything you need to get started, except somewhere to sit. The keyboard does feel a little bit on the cheaper side - it's obvious that it's a budget instrument. It comes with a soft storage.. pouch, I would call it. It's not really a case, it provides very little protection. It does store the instrument and allows you to carry it easier. The keyboard also comes with a stand... but it's really short. It also has some little bolts that help hold the keyboard.. but they don't reach the keyboard holes when the stand is over half-height. The stand is really suited for playing sitting down, but the set does not provide a seat. The keyboard can be powered using batteries or the included power supply. There's also a headset that's included for quiet practice. It also comes with some labels that can be helpful to learn the keys. They do fall off after a bit of playing, but hopefully you would learn at least a few of the notes before they fall off. The keyboard does not have a 1/4" jack, which means you need an adapter if you want to plug into a mixer or PA. It has plenty of different voices, and they sound decent. I really like the button layout, it feels very minimalist and it's easy to understand. Like I mentioned earlier, it's a budget instrument. If you keep to those expectations, this is a very good purchase. It's perfect for a beginner and can really help spark interest in music. ... show more

  • Decent for beginners
This keyboard bundle is an excellent choice for beginners or anyone wanting an affordable all-in-one setup. It comes with the essentials, including a sturdy X-stand, headphones for quiet practice, a carry bag for portability, and a power adapter, so you're ready to play right out of the box without needing to purchase a bunch of extras. The 61-key layout is lightweight and easy to move, making it a great option for kids, students, or adults learning piano. With 300 tones and 300 rhythms, there's plenty to explore, and the built-in speakers sound surprisingly good for casual practice. The USB MIDI connection is also a nice bonus for anyone interested in using music software or learning apps. Pros: Complete beginner bundle with useful accessories. Lightweight and portable. 300 tones and 300 rhythms provide lots of variety. USB MIDI compatibility for learning apps and recording. Headphones included for quiet practice. Great value for the price. Cons: 61 keys may feel limiting for more advanced players. Keys aren't weighted, so it doesn't fully replicate an acoustic piano. Overall, this is a fantastic starter keyboard for beginners, kids, or casual musicians. It offers a lot of features and accessories for the price, making it an easy recommendation for anyone looking to begin their piano journey without spending a fortune. ... show more
