    • Excellent starter kit
Color: Sunburst Size: 39 Inch Left Handed
I bought this kit exactly a year ago to try and teach myself to play guitar. I played drums for 40 years nothing serious just a hobby with my friends until I had a spinal cord injury and lost a lot of mobility in my feet. Since I love music guitar seemed like a good idea, I didn’t want to break the bank on something that I wasn’t sure I would be able to do so I bought this kit. Once my friends found out they helped me tune it up and started teaching me the basics, they were all impressed with the quality and sound especially for the price. The little amp while obviously not great is perfect for learning on and is still cooking along. I’m getting ready to pick up a different “higher end” guitar and that reminded me to review this package. If you’re looking for an entry level guitar to experiment with you can’t go wrong here this is a solid, quality foot in the door guitar. ... show more

    • *updated* - very satisfied. Originally - Great value, but needs 'setup' before it is 'playable'
Color: Sunburst Size: 39 Inch Left Handed
***update** Donner reached out to me and apologized multiple times for my experience. They stated that each guitar undergoes quality control and setup prior to leaving their factory, but occasionally something happens during shipping from China that may cause it to require an adjustment (very small %). Based on other reviews, I am inclined to believe this and I must have just been one of those unlucky ones (5% of reviews at 1 or 2 stars vs 91% at 4 and 5 stars). Anyway, Donner did make things right and truely did want ensured their guitar performed properly. Once again, when this guitar is set-up properly, it is phenomenal for the price...definitely hitting well above its price point. I would recommend. Orig review: Bottom line - good set for the money, but guitar needs a good setup before it is 'playable'. If you don't know how to do this yourself or have a friend who can do it, you'll need to spend a bit more of money before it sounds good. I'm getting back into guitar after more than a decade hiatus and decided to treat myself to an electric guitar. As I play solely for my own enjoyment, I didn't want to spend a ton of money. I saw this kit and decided to give it a try, as it included everything I needed - guitar, apartment sized amp, cable, capo, and tuner. The guitar actually seems to be very good quality, especially considering the cost. It probably could have gone for this price by itself, let alone as a kit. The amp, capo, cable and tuner are all sufficient and work well for just playing at home. The neck feels very good in my hands and the edges of the frets are all nicely polished - no sharp edges. The neck was also right where it should be and didn't require any adjustment to the truss rod. HOWEVER...this guitar wasn't really playable right out of the box. The action was way to high and both the nut and every bridge saddle needed adjusting. Out of the box, you could get it well tuned when all the strings were open (or with just the capo and no chords). Unfortunately, whenever you pressed down on the strings at any of the frets, it immediately became sharp and sounded out of tune. Stick the capo on without retuning it and all strings became sharp...and unfortunately not to the same degree. After spending a couple hours filing each groove on the nut and adjusting every saddle (both the height and moving most of them back), my guitar was finally properly set-up. Now that it has been properly adjusted, this guitar plays great and I'm very glad I ordered it. Does it sound and play like a professional multi thousand dollar guitar? Of course not. But for my purposes and for it being an inexpensive entry level guitar, I am more than happy with it. ... show more

    • Awesome starter guitar!
Color: Sunburst Size: 39 Inch Left Handed
The guitar arrived well packaged without any damage or missing parts. It comes with the basic accessories you need to get you started. Right out of the box, the guitar is pretty high quality and feels solid. The frets were dressed very nicely and comfortable to play. I do suggest upgrading the strings so you don't have to re-tune them every 5–10 minutes. The amp doubles as a Bluetooth speaker and is small enough to carry around when it's fully charged. It's decent for personal use. The gig bag is more sturdy than I expected. I've purchased a cheap guitar before and found the gig bag to be little more than burlap sack. Overall, I am very pleased with this guitar and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get started. Thank you Donner!!! ... show more

    • Decent gutair.
Color: Black Size: 39 Inch Left Handed
Nice gutair. No sharp fretts, plays well, mini amp does its job. I would buy again. It is a good value for the price, comes ready to play. My 12yr old left-handed player love it . Only negative is its on the heavy side.

    • Effective as a Beginner Guitar
Color: Sunburst Size: 39 Inch Left Handed
Having left hand availability helped immensely as a left handed person. For the price of 179, you get a full kit that allows you to play the guitar, which is a great price to start off with. While it is obviously not the best quality available, and some features are limited (such as distortion and tone), it is a great place to start if you want to dip your toes into playing electric. ... show more

    • The whole package is worth the money
Color: Black Size: 39 Inch Left Handed
Well here are my likes the guitar works as advertised and is pretty good quality as well. Tremolo works without it going out of tune with the strings that were on the guitar. Now here is my dislike and this is a musician thing please note I played saxophone professionally for 23 years and had a 1963 Mark VI actually from the Surfaris sax player. So I understand quality and as a music teacher much later in life I know beginning to advanced level instruments band and orchestra. I checked the intonation just on the low E string and it was way off the entire neck. So I definitely wasn’t happy with that. I’ve never played guitar but I know enough to check. So the guitar has been lying on the couch becoming a potato. I wasn’t expecting a $1,000 guitar for sure but intonation is everything even for a beginner like myself. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was due to the intonation. But other than that I believe this guitar could be made into a really nice machine given upgrades, but I could take it and play gigs if the intonation was correct. Good job other than that Donner, you’re making a good product. Oh and the amp is battery powered and needs to be charged before use. It gives you sound and that’s a really good start! Lastly, the extra strings, strap and the tuner, nice touch! I still recommend this guitar package for any beginner. ... show more
