I am starting to like Karen Katz books. I have a couple of hers in Spanish and they translate very well. The vocabulary level is great for kids. I have been reading her books to my 5 month old son and he loves the pictures and when I open the flaps to reveal the other images. He pays attention to these books more than others so that's why I give it 5 stars. I just wish they were longer but that's probably more for my sake than the baby's. ... show more

The story is sweet and simple, which is what you want for establishing good early reading and language acquisition. I wish the flaps were sturdier so I could let my one year old flip through as she does with all her board books but I’ll just hang onto the book until she can be more gentle. The pictures are engaging and there are some shiny elements so I think it’s perfect for this age group. If only the flaps were thicker I’d give it 5 stars. More inclusive/diverse illustrations would also be nice for future books. ... show more
