Assembly is simple, and once connected, the plastic frame pieces stay together well. The room backdrops are also secured into ridges on the plastic frame pieces so also stay secure. The floors are set on top of horizontal ridges that run along the interior of the thin and long frame pieces, so they simply lay flat with no attachment to keep them in place, though gravity does a good job of it. Once you've set this dollhouse up one time, it becomes obvious that there's tons of different ways to set it up and all of the variations that are possible; different rooms, floors, frame configurations, and more. The smaller round connecting pieces (peachish in color) are the most difficult part of assembly as they need to be pushed and twisted into place to ensure the firm stability of everything - about 5 (out of 45) of them took more than just typical hand push strength to seat completely onto the vertical columns. Some of the accessory pieces do require application of the included stickers, and they are of better-than-average thickness and quality. The lights run off of a battery pack that needs 2 AA batteries that you'll need to provide. It took me just over an hour to assemble this from very beginning to completion, and now that I've done it once, I think it would only take about 10 minutes to do a second one and be very quick to change up the frame design also. One last note, it would also be possible to use these thicker cardboard floor and backdrop room design pieces to create your own customized room using a computer and a printer...I think that would be super fun. :) This is a well-thought-out and inexpensive dollhouse option for your favorite child.

With 285 pieces this will keep your little one quite engaged. The layout is actually quite nice. When the dollhouse arrived, I questioned the size as the box is quite small. Smaller than I anticipated anyway. My assumption was that the dollhouse itself would be assembled but I was wrong. The house itself must be assembled and if your child is young, they will probably need assistance. My granddaughter was quite impatient and ended up watching me build the structure. Once the house was assembled she took over and wanted no assistance from me. For her placing the furniture in the rooms she wanted was the highlight of this toy. Now she wants to buy additional furniture for her house so she can "remodel." What is nice is that the set also includes some outdoor pieces making it more than just a dollhouse. It makes it a home. Once I showed her that it lights up, she wanted the overhead lights turned off so she could "build" her house with just the dollhouse lights on. When properly assembled it is about two feet high. For a small girl this is a big toy. As with most toys now days the batteries are not included. Nice set, lots of pieces and engaging. That is about all you can ask for.

This dollhouse made my niece incredibly happy. It has so many rooms and so many items to decorate. She went crazy with happiness, organizing and making each room unique. The dollhouse comes with a doll to play with, but it can also fit other dolls of the same size. It’s a four-story dollhouse that took quite a while to build. The instructions were simple enough; however, in some cases, it was very confusing as to which part went with which other part. Once built, the doll house was very durable. My niece enjoyed it for a long time, and it stayed up the entire time with no sign it would fall. A few pieces that go into the rooms were smaller than I thought and got lost, but we found them and put them in her toy chest. Overall, it is an excellent dollhouse. It would’ve been nice if it did come with a box for the additional small pieces.

This dollhouse has so much to do! Putting it together takes a little help from adult, instructions are easy to read. Some pieces can be confusing as to which others they go with but not bad at all! Hours of fun and imaginative play. Pieces are perfect for little hands. Once put together it is a very nice size for appropriate ages. Great gift item! Well worth the price!

Looks nice, but it took me more than an hour to set up. The quality is cheap. The walls are cardboard and pop out easily. I'm missing a piece in front too.

I really like the layout of this doll house. There are a lot of pieces that go into assembling this doll house, but it does go together fairly easily and relatively quick. I would assemble this where you are planning on utilizing it, as it is not reliably stable for transport. On the bright side it is easy to break down if you need or want to store it away. This house did accommodate most of the existing small to medium sized dolls I had.
