ive got 3 labs. they chew up most dog toys within hours of getting them. i do not think they will be able to chew this up. its way to hard. its so hard that they cant bite it strong enough to get it to squeak. i cant push it hard enough to get it to squeak either... only if i step on it. i dont think its gonna get much playtime. they are bored of it bc they cant make it squeak. ... show more

I bought two of these for my two dogs -- a Lab and a Great Dane. I had doubts as most toys do not stand up well to these twos' chewing. Over a couple weeks, a plug in the bottom has come out. That plug could pose a choking hazard for some dogs. My two really like the chewing action on the toys, biting down and letting go. I'm not describing it well, but you might get it. They're not really chewing to consume or destroy but just exercising their jaws. These toys have survived over a month of heavy play and chewing with matches the best toys by Playology, a more expensive brand of very durable rubber chews and ropes that I frequently buy. I got this primarily for my Doberman, who as you might guess is excellent at destroying toys 😅 - and hands downs the durability is amazing, But….. it so tough, hard to make squeak that he ends up carrying it for a moment and then leaving it for another toy. I even put treats in the toy, but he gave it up quickly and much prefers something more maleable / shreddable like a Bark Bone Just as an FYI he is about 1yo old and 75lbs, so if you have a super chewer who likes rubber toys than this would be great, mine just never took to it 🤷🏽♀️ ... show more

I was worried that since it was rubber my Luxi would shave pieces off. She doesn't really like it much as a toy but when she's being extra cray I shove some peanut butter in the mouth area. She gets it quick but if I freeze it beforehand she's occupied for a good 10 minutes. So definitely a good treat toy ... show more

Update this toy lasted 4 months before any pieces were ripped off by my 11mo rottie. She chewed on this daily with treats in it. I'm quite impressed and will buy another. The lifespan and price are great. I have a Rottweiler that can cut thru every toy with her sharp teeth and incredible bite force. This alligator is so tough its hard for me to squeak it with my hand. It is made of a rubber so I am not concerned about tooth injuries. We jam treats into the zig zag mouth opening to entire even more chewing. The toy has been holding up wonderfully for nearly months. We have a heavy chewer... most toys don't last long. She loves the alligator and uses it every day. She also loved the squeaker but unfortunately (or fortunately for us) it didn't last any longer than 2 days. Still in good shape after 3 weeks of every day use though!
