I've bought many "durable" chew toys for my dog over the years and nothing lasts very long, especially if there's a squeaker inside! This one not only lasts, but my dog really loves it for some reason. I bought it because, at 13 years old, he was having terrible breath. I put some doggie toothpaste on this as instructed. He avoided the toothpaste, but he has been happily chewing this toy for hours a day ever since. The stickers on the eyes wore off very quickly, but everything else has done great. I would highly recommend! Also, his breath is a lot better now, but I'm not sure how much is this toy and how much are the dental stix I give him twice a week.

Great alternative to the hard plastic toys in the bullymake boxes. My dog won't play with the rubber toys from those boxes. She loves this toy, and has not been without it except to go outside since I opened the packaging

This toy lasted 6 weeks before my 1 year old Lab destroyed it. Longest lasting toy since he was 6 months old. It was tough enough that he actually lost interest in it before he finally destroyed it. The toy did provide many hours of diversion before he destroyed it.

Now, take my review with a grain of salt, as my dog (lab/hound mix) didn't really like this toy and didn't use it pretty much at all. When I first received the product it came in packaging that looked like it had been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for a long time. No dust, but it had a slight faded vintage-y look if you know what I mean. I opened it and was happy to see that there was a little brush included to help wash the toy in between the alligator's teeth. And that was where the light started fading... The toy smells. A lot. I took it out and there was a very strong smell. My dog was curious (as he always is with new toys) and he came over so I lifted it up so he could smell it, and boy did he let out the biggest sneeze. He sneezed, turned his head, and walked away. I did throw it around a little to get him excited about it, but he just quickly picked it up and dropped it right back down as if it was a hot potato. I concluded that the smell was definitely too much so I put it away for a couple days to let it "air out" in hopes that with less smell he'd be more interested in it. Took it back out and the smell did lessen, but you could still smell it if you got closer. Gave it to the dog, and he did hold it longer so I thought it was time to tempt him by adding some food....but there is literally no space to add food. My boy doesn't like peanut butter either so I couldn't smother that on it. So I managed to get the smallest amount of wet food stuck behind the alligator's teeth. Thank goodness they gave you a little brush because it would be almost impossible to clean that area if you got stuff in it. But here's the deal. When I put food behind the teeth, my dog just tried licking it, thus defeating the purpose of cleaning teeth and being a chew toy. And yes, the same thing happened when I put toothpaste in the teeth, he just kept licking and licking and licking. So you could say that the little space behind the teeth is just meant for scent in order to lure the dog into chewing the toy...if they ever decide to chew it instead of licking it. Yeah it "doesn't work as intended" for me. As a quick recap of everything else: the squeaker (woah it had one of those?!) is hard to even squeak (but maybe if your dog really was an aggressive chewer it would work?), it's kind of awkward for my dog to hold it as it keeps flopping or rolling over, it is a new addition in my "waste of space dog toys that my dog will maybe hopefully one day find an interest in but probably never will" box.

My 2 y.o. Pit mix destroys any toy I’ve gotten for him, except for this one. He’s had this for several months now and had only gotten a small chunk off. The mouth is great for smearing peanut butter on to keep him busy, and the small crevices are hard for him to completely lick clean, which keeps him busy on it for a long time. I just only wish is that there was enough of an opening to use a dog treat or biscuit instead of always using peanut butter, but I know that may only serve to weaken it’s durability. Overall very happy with this purchase and would absolutely recommend!
