I was a little concerned, from the photo, that the body of the toy looked squishy, and easily damaged. I wasn't sure about the head/tail parts, but I trusted the description, and bought it anyway. This is a very solid toy (you want to watch your feet, if your dog brings it over to you- it's pretty heavy!), and my teething puppy especially likes to chew on the nose/tail of it. The painted-on eyes started peeling off within minutes of giving this toy to my pup, so I just peeled them off the rest of the way, and it still looks fine without them. I've noticed some teeth puncture marks on the body of the toy (it is more rubbery than the hard plastic head/tail), but since he really prefers the head/tail, it's not been a problem so far. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This one is one of my puppy favorite toy. Which means that he chews on it the most. Until today it is still holding but the tail is chewed up. Wish it was made of something more durable. It is a bit heavy, but my small Bernadoodle love its. I do not do review until I use products and my peers give me opinion too. ... show more

This alligator has withstood the chewing of a lab puppy, 2 adult labs, and 2 blue Heelers who all chew on it. It doesn’t come apart in pieces and keeps them entertained for hours. Definitely recommend for tough chewers! The only other thing we have found that ours don’t destroy are elk antlers so this one is definitely worth it! ... show more

I have a 50lb pit mix rescue and she loves to chew on things all day. She has chewed off all the plastic, which can be a choking hazard, she has choked on a few pieces, and the hard plastic isn't too great of the teeth however after 2 weeks the toy is down to one little nubbin.

My dog has had this toy for about 1.5 months, and aside from looking a little gross, it’s holding up pretty well. We have a large 7month old hound dog. He has most of his adult teeth but still loves to chew. Most toys only last a few days to a week, but this has held up. It’s more lk a Nylabone material. He’ll switch between the Nylabone and this alligator for chewing. I like that it keeps him entertained and has already lasted longer than I expected! ... show more

    • It's interesting..... but my dog loves it!

Great little toy. I was really worried at how hard the ends are even though the middle is rubbery. I thought maybe my dog would crack it, or his tooth. Low and behold he loves chomping on it and it's holding up! Oh and it's HEAVY.
