We got this before we got our akita puppy. We had just lost a 95 pound akita to hip displasia who refused to walk up a ramp. So for us old folks, it was a job lifting her into the back of our car. When we got our new puppy, we wanted to be sure that he learned at a young age how to walk up a set of stairs that easily fold up and fit in the back of our SUV where he rides. He easily learned on the first go round with a few cheerios on the steps on the way up. When he was a puppy we were chided for having a set of stairs for him to walk up, but if they could only see him now at 116 pounds, they'd know why. I love this set of stairs because they are sturdy, they fold up and take up a small footprint in the back of the SUV, they are easy and quick to set up, very stable when attached to the loop of the back hatch. They are versatile enough that they can be used on several vehicles: a Kia Soul, jeep wrangler, jeep patriot, and a truck (side door). We've been super happy with the purchase. We've even used it after knee surgery on our pup and even if we have to help him, it's nothing like having to lift his whole body weight. I highly recommend and wish we had found it for our previous dog.

I pretty much love these steps. They are lightweight enough that portability and storage is easy. I have a giant 125# dog who won't even push an open door to get into a room. I got her to go up and down on the first try (along with a few treats). I like that the top part is padded to protect my car and the astronauts turf apparently is a hit with the dogs. Since the steps are aluminum and astronomical turf, cleaning just involves a spray with the hose outside. This is a well thought out item!

I love that this ramp folds up compactly to be stored in my vehicle. It took our pets a few tries to really understand what it was and use it correctly. Read the instructions that come with the ramp, I didn’t at first at it sure helps! 😂

I am updating my review. The company refunded the cost of the steps which was a complete surprise. Thank you! We will work with them on how to fix the 6 step unit so it is more sturdy. My husband put another piece under the front of each step and used double sided tape to secure the covering which keeps the covering from sliding when Zoey walks up the steps. Also, we like the steps enough to tell some friends about them and they purchased the 4 step unit which they are very, very pleased with for their large dogs. I highly recommend the 4 and 5 step units. Original Post: The stairs definitely help Zoey get into the truck however they are wabbly and we have to help her due to the sway when she gets to the third step. Also the material on the steps are not secure and it slides when she is stepping on them. The 4 steps my friend bought are much more sturdy and the steps have a better material that does not move when the dogs step on them. Disappointed and now looking for some way to make the steps more sturdy and less slippery.

The media could not be loaded. This is truly an excellent product, I'm amazed each time my 115 pound (52kg) labrador with hip displasia climbs up and down these steps and they handle his weight with almost no visible sag! Really well-designed and built, and absolutely worth the slightly higher cost than similar looking products that don't seem like they could handle more than 100lbs even though they claim to. These stairs fold and unfold very easily, and are a breeze to store, despite the sturdy build. The reflective strips are a nice touch. I've had these almost 6 months now, and they've held up very well. I hope they'll outlast my 7-year old doggie!

Great, sturdy, easy to transport ramp for helping my small pups get into the car. The grip on the ramp makes my pups comfortable using it. One is nervous about making the leap without it so the ramp has been truly appreciated by him! We highly recommend this ramp!

The steps are wide and feel strong, but the length was not enough for me. I have a mid-size SUV (RX350) and the steps did not easily reach to the top of back, so it ended up being a little steep. Steep enough that my dog would not even try to go up. Ended up returning because I couldn't even get him to put a paw on. I suppose that's mostly on him, but I do feel if the staircase had more length then it wouldn't be as steep and perhaps my dog would have been more apt to try.
