I am a lifelong nerd, like a kid - always putting things in my pockets. The pockets on the cargo versions are big enough for a paperback book, a device, or a pound of M&Ms. Even these, without the extra cargo pockets, have generous pockets. I'm a retired engineer, and I wore these to various workplaces, including the office, every day. I've been wearing these pants since they hit the market in the mid 80s. I wear them every single day for all purposes, unless I am either welding or attending a funeral or wedding. I have around ten pairs, pluse another half dozen of non-cargo Dockers. I was specifically looking for a relaxed fit and had to have white for a uniform. He ordered these and the Amazon basic brand he found the dockers to be thinner and if wearing any underwear color, you could see through them. They also weren’t as relaxed fit as he wanted and pulled a bit through the zipper. They were tight in the thighs for him(athletic thighs).
