I got this to add to a new desk chair that was rather hard. The size was good, but I did cut it down some to accommodate my own back/spine issues. Once I did that it has been great! Really meets my needs.

I bought three of the 4” cushions without covers (pillowcase works just fine and easy off to wash) for my husband who has always had a bony butt. Since he is now 80 and has almost no meat on his bones, he developed a pressure sore. Dermatologist recommended a donut. We tried several. They were a waste of money. I put little pillows on all of his chairs and a thick memory foam pillow on the recliner where he sleeps. These things all helped his comfort but they haven’t stopped the sores from developing. After yet another trip to the dermatologist for medicine, I did more research and found these. He’s only been using them a few days but he says he feels a difference in the amount of pressure on the sores. I went ahead and ordered two of the 3” also because the 4” puts him up a little too high at a desk. The ones he uses during the day don’t need covers because he has pants or shorts on and I slipped a regular pillowcase on the one he uses at night in his recliner. You save a lot of money this way. I will update this review after we’ve had them a month. Ok, so I am updating this review. All of the egg crates have held up great except for the one in the recliner where he sleeps all night. That one is pretty flattened out. I ordered two more as back ups. His pressure sore is gone. First time in several years that his skin is completely healed back there. I will replace as needed for the rest of his life. ... show more

I was so hopeful that this affordable cushion would be the answer to painful sitting challenge. I have sciatica so sitting for any extended time makes my buttocks sore and tender where the supporting pelvic bone holds me up. I have been using firm foam that turned out to be too firm, while other pads are too soft or also too firm. I was hoping this egg carton design would be the answer. I put it in my chair just after it arrived and was very pleased with the comfort so that I ended up sitting there through a movie before going to bed. Today, I am dejected by the fact that this cushion squashes down to nearly flat while making it more uncomfortable by the peaks going flat making the pad lumpy. Sadly, I modified the pad yesterday to fit my chair so I can't return it. Don't waste your money on this. BTW, I weigh 200 lbs. ... show more
