DJI Support is incompetent!!
I was excited to get the product and get it in the air. I followed the set up steps and much to my dismay the built in tablet on the DJI Phantom 4 Pro+ just couldn't run their preinstalled DJI Go App. The app launched properly and connected to the drone but every time you pushed "Go Fly" a pop up opened that said "Unfortunately, DJI Go has stopped working" it would then close and relaunch. I tried rebooting 46 times, then contacted DJI Support. DJI Support was where this experience really went bad. He instructed to reinstall the controller firmware via loading it onto a micro sd card on my pc, and then put the micro sd into the controller and power it up and it will automatically update. It didn't, so he issued a return authorization and told me if everything went smooth my new replacement would arrive in 2 weeks(of course I bought this to do something now not a month from now.) if it was available. ARE YOU KIDDING? A REFURB? I then did my own research and found how I was supposed to reinstall the firmware via settings and selecting local update, these instructions were on the DJI website, the tech support guy had no clue how to do it. Unfortunately it still didn't work. I then took upon myself to do a full "back up & restore" via the settings in the built in Android tablet. NO LUCK. I then found a thread on DJI Forum that discussed the exact same issue, and a poster saying he did the same back up and restore I did with the drone connected via micro USB to the controller and after that his worked. I thought that makes no sense being that the app crashed even when the drone wasn't connected wirelessly or even powered on. But why not?? It actually worked though and I have now seemingly have a perfectly functioning drone, controller, and screen. I have now logged 5 whole minutes of flight time but I'm optimistic it will keep working. So the drone seems cool, and seems to work as expected, but if you have a problem you may as well ask the drive through window guy at taco bell how to fix it rather than the completely incompetent DJI Support.

Read Before You Buy! Major Downsides to the P4 Pro Plus
At the core is the Phantom 4 Pro that is Awesome in many ways, but with this built-in screen it is crippled! Not to mention the screen crashes and needs to reboot often. Then DJI hastily stuck this built-in screen to the transmitter(RC) that is driven by the Android OS and it's abysmal to deal with and actually dangerous in my opinion. During the initial setup and first (half flight) the screen crashed 7 times. During the setup - 5 times & twice during first half of the first flight. The only way to get it to work again was to power-cycle the transmitter which is scary and probably a big hazard. The other major problem is that the only application currently available to use is the built-in DJI Go4 App. The DJI GS Pro isn't available in Android yet and you can't install any other 3rd party applications like Litchi, AutoPilot or DroneDeploy to perform any aerial mapping functions like you can by going with the regular P4 Pro and Tablet. You can plan online through the DJI application, but if you get out to the site and conditions change that affect the flight needs, the only way to change those is to login online again and submit the changes. Defeats the purpose of not having a tablet!!! DJI hastily released this and should have put a little more thought and time into this one since they have virtually No Competition to worry about! I would say this version is only good for people that want to do simple image/video capture that doesn't use the aircraft for any of the mapping or advanced capabilities. The only thing nice I can say is that the screen is very bright without a sunshade, but an iPad on its brightest setting with a sunshade is much better due to the size and overall functionality that the tablet would bring.

$1,500 Brick. But it looks good.
I happen to live in a flight restricted zone, not something I was aware of until after purchase. Initially the app offered a bypass, but needed to update first. For over two weeks we were unable to update the app. The process would hang at 0% download of the update. DJI “help” was only available through email and answers were roughly 24 hour turnaround. They were polite but unhelpful. Eventually it was suggested that I send them the drone and controller. I did not. After shelving it for another week or two, I took it out and tried again. This time it updated. I updated firmware on the drone as well. Next day off I took it back outside and now the option to bypass the restrictions is gone 😂. The FAA does not care if I fly here, I’ve called them both times that I tried to fly. But DJI does. I can apply for an exception through a process that includes justifications, attachments and other BS. But my only intent was to film my family in our yard and enjoy this thing. Now I have over a month in, have never flown it and I need to contact people in a foreign land to seek permission to fly in my yard when even our own federal government couldn’t care less. Not looking forward to the added stress of dealing with this BS. I’d like my money back please. And for the spare battery I bought as well. If there was a warning when I bought it I missed it. There should be an option that allows be to override their restriction and take responsibility for my own actions.

If you get a Pro 4 stick with the standard controller.
The Pro 4 Controller is a real let down. It is one hassle after the other. The Software updates are almost impossible to pull off. The controller thinks it is offline even when you have it connect to WIFI. Also connecting the cables from the Drone to Controller, it does not see the connection, The Drone sits here useless and is non returnable. Do you research on all the issues with this controller. Oh and back when it would fly and before it disabled itself because it requires update the promised extra "Range" due to 5.4MHZ is bogus. It has the exact same range as the Phantom 4 which I was replacing the 4 Pro with still continues to be able to use. If you get a Pro 4 stick with the standard controller.
