  • Great Nano kit!
Style: Nano Motorcycle Multi-POV Combo
Like many people I've decided to start my own YouTube channel. I've been stocking up on camera gear, software, the whole 9. I want to make this happen. I picked up a nice GoPro but I had my eye on a Nano for it's extreme portability. When I saw this kit I had to try it. It arrived in a plain box that contained the camera in a very nice box and the motorcycle stand in a separate box. It was all in near-mint condition. Setup isn't too hard. Power up the camera and it goes into connection mode. Download the DJI software on your phone or tablet (I haven't found PC software for it) and it will automatically connect. You sign up for an account and all that. In use this is a REALLY cool camera! The separate camera and view screen is a game-changer. The fact that it still remotely connects to the camera when separated is just too cool. You can easily set up the camera and keep an eye on what it can see. Using the app is okay, but it disconnects when you change screens, and I'm usually using my phone when I'm filming. The magnet attachment is pretty cool, and it holds better than I expected. While I wouldn't trust it several feet off the ground above concrete I would certainly use it a few feet up over a padded surface. The battery life is pretty good, and when you connect the camera to the pod it charges the camera pretty quickly. You can go from dead to usable time in 10 - 20 minutes. The kit is pretty great. You get a nice rollbar mount that would work on handles and possibly ATV tubes. There are a couple of other stands as well, though lower quality, but it comes with a really nice little tripod that extends. The only downside to this camera is that it overheats quickly. In 80 degree ambient it overheated after ten minutes of recording, and it unfortunately takes several minutes to cool down enough to use. If it's nice and cool out (I'll test it outside soon) it may be fine, but it's disappointing and I worry that using it in the summer will be impossible. Overall I'm pretty happy with this little camera. It has tons of features, extreme portability, and decent battery life. The overheating issue is annoying, but we'll see how much it impacts use. ... show more

  • Compact, Versatile, and Excellent Video Quality
Style: Nano Motorcycle Multi-POV Combo
Another great product from DJI. This camera is very compact, lightweight, and well thought out. Compared to other DJI products, it’s noticeably lighter, yet still feels solid and well-built. The kit includes everything you need to get started right out of the box. One feature I really like is that the camera is detachable from the screen module. Both the camera and the remote/screen module use strong magnets, which is extremely convenient for mounting and quick adjustments. Video quality is excellent. Footage is clear, sharp, and colors look very good. I’m not a big fan of the ultra-wide angle, but the camera allows you to switch to a standard view (about a 15mm lens equivalent), which I prefer. It records 4K at 60fps with a 120 Mbps bitrate. While it doesn’t offer 4K at 120fps like the Action 5 Pro, that’s understandable given the size, and the feature set is still impressive for such a small camera. Another big plus is the built-in 128GB storage, which is great if you ever forget a memory card. You can still record without any issues. Battery life is solid overall, though the screen module does drain faster than the camera itself. The included accessories are very useful: a tripod, a mini suction cup with quick-release magnetic mount, and a clamp with a 1/4-inch threaded option once the suction cup is removed. I personally added a SmallRig cage to better suit my setup, as I like using a magic arm and attaching small light accessories. Overall, this is a versatile, well-designed camera with great video quality and thoughtful features. A very solid choice for vlogging or motorcycle POV use. ... show more

  • The camera, amazing. The kit, if you need everything is a decent price.
Style: Nano Motorcycle Multi-POV Combo
Concerning the Osmo Nano itself, this is the second camera I've gotten to test (Initial test was the 64 gig version), and I can confidently say it's a really fun, capable and great little camera for the size and price. Since the last few months when they've upgraded the firmware (do this immediately if you can), the overheat issue's have been fixed and the camera works so much better. The picture quality can be potentially very good as long as you are manually controlling the results and limiting things like the iso and shutter speed to lower noise and also have a more cinema feel by doing the standard double frame rate shutter speed lock down. For timelapse/hyperlapse stuff with a ND filter or in general it's very awesome, which is why this kit for bikes/motorcycles is pretty great. The quality of the video, when controlled, is good enough to use in commercial work. Device is light enough to attach to drones also. The camera is extremely portable. Paired with a DJI mic 2 or 3 (I don't have the mini to test) it also records really killer sound. Open gate 4:3 60k has a lot of decent crop room if you don't mind editing. Great for social media and broll content. The nano system is really cool in how fast and speedy you can move the camera around to get different POV's. The magnet on it is really strong. Very useful. It's a pretty good looking camera also if that's your thing. Standard DJI aesthetics. Very professional. Why a 4 out of 5 though rating wise is total cost of the system with the Motorcycle POV combo at $100 more than just the standard Osmo 128. $100 isn't a bad price increase if you want everything in the kit, but if you want just a specific thing like the chest harness, or the grip, there are a lot of first and third party options where you can spend so much less and get a memory card or something and still have spare money. ... show more
