I walk my dogs several miles every day. We go all over town and often, there are dogs off-leash and/or sketchy folks and I wear an action cam just in case. I got the Essential Combo which includes an mount adapter that is of no use unless you have a mount to attach it to. Luckily, I had been using an Akaso EK7000 and received a huge number of attachments with the basic camera. I had to do some MacGyver-esque tinkering to attach the DJI to my pack and the weight was a bit of a hinderance but it is a reasonable compromise for the impressive quality difference. The DJI is very heavy compared to the Akaso but that's because it is worlds better. Once set, everything works on this camera. The date and time stay set, the loop recording works flawlessly, stabilization is excellent, and the picture quality is fantastic. My only criticism so far is that the user interface isn't as intuitive as it could. Yes, you have to use their app and I'm sure the CCP is monitoring my every walk but that's going to be true with all of these cameras. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I'll get right to it! I love the DJI Osmo Action 4 camera. Yes, there are newer versions of the Action camera, but this suits me just fine. I use the Action 4 camera for Vlogging on travel, outside and now as a webcam. When I bought the Action 4, I didn't realize that it is a webcam. That is such an added bonus as I record podcast and talking head videos. Like everyone else, I had to have the DJI Pocket 3 cam, but now that I have both, the Action 4 is my go to. While the Pocket 3 has superior image quality, the gimbal is often annoying to work with. With the Action 4 it is really just an aim and shoot thing. I will say that the "Low Light" video imaging is not great on the Action 4 and you will have to fix that in the editing process. Unlike the Pocket 3 which has a low light option and it captures amazing images in that setting. I think both cameras are great to have, but the Action 4 is considerably less expensive, more user friendly and has quality features and capabilities. If you are just starting out on your photography, podcasting, vlogging journey, I would highly recommend going with the Action 4 camera. There aren't enough differences with the ACTION 5 or 6 to make the upgrade worth it in my opinion. I have included some images using the Action 4 camera. The images are sharp, clear and vibrant. This is my first action cam i love the way its built very small but packs a punch in the video and photo area the way you can changed the cid settings on it is very nice i actually watched and rewatched videos on youtube about this phone and if ya wanna waste money on upgrading to the 5 or 6 but the 4 blows both out the water now this is my opinion i like the fact that ican bluetooth my dji mic mini to it without a receiver everything about this camera is very well built ill be useing this on my youtube channel for a main cam for sure i highly recommend this DJI Osmo Action 4 camera. ... show more

To me it is crazy that nowhere (at least obvious) on the Amazon product page, does it state that to use this camera (more than 5 times), requires you to download an app on your phone (from outside the app store I might add), and agree to all sorts of terms of service about all the data they will collect on you (including GPS location), and just trust they will be responsible with that data. I absolutely see no reason why I should have to give anyone ANY data (or even just creating a blank account) to use the simple camera I have PURCHASED. Its my hardware now, I've purchased it (or at least that was what I thought was happening when I paid hundreds of dollars to buy a camera). You can't even change all the settings on the camera (despite having a touch screen, 2 in fact) without the app. I am seriously considering returning this camera, and paying MORE money to GoPro, just to not have this extreme invasion of my privacy and lock-down of the hardware I purchased. To me, the actual camera's image quality could be better than ALL other cameras, and the above facts absolutely ruin it for me. I shouldn't be that surprised I guess, my DJI drone is the same... Great tiny camera, connects with most computers and devices with a USB C port, version I got came with cage and waterproofing seals (which I may never use). Four stars is because a lot of the things to make it useful for me were add-ons. But out of the box useful and fairly intuitive. Front screen is a little fiddly to use but a good feature. Will work as a webcam for live with applications like Zoom (but I didn't get it for that use) and standalone video camera. Other downside is it does not work well for direct "tethered" video straight into Final Cut Pro, which I'd hoped it would, but that is apparently a downside of the software I use and not the camera. Also tried Snagit to video but the file size was HUGE for the resolution. That said, its price was reasonable for a good alternative to the other small action cameras and it is well-built and sturdy even without its protective cage. Just a false economy in that to use the camera as I wish means more investment in dongles and adapter cables to get it to do what I wanted to do. ... show more
