I then went to DJI to buy the refresh for this drone, only to have DJI tell me that this drone can't be registered for the refresh program because this serial number has already been used. DJI Mavic Pro Platinum The non-Platinum Mavic Pro is already a great drone. Capable of 23+ minutes of 4K recording flight goodness it's one of the best selling series of drones released in the last few years. While I could do a long commentary..I won't Instead I'll describe why I got the platinum model. The Platinum comes with enhanced ESC electronics which boost battery to almost 30 minutes AND add new quieter props to drop sound by 4db. It's a great drone and very stable in normal winds. It's so stable that I thought the liveview had frozen. I already had a Phantom 3 and the capability, size, and features makes the Phantom look like it came from the 1800's.

A tremendous amount has already been written about the DJI Mavic Pro so I will be brief. I have previously owned a Phantom 3 Advanced also from DJI and both drones are excellent, but the Mavic just feels higher quality and is extremely well designed and built. I logged around 85 flights with the P3ADV and have so far flown 16 times with the Mavic. Couple of pieces of advice: even though the price of these things is amazing when considering the capabilities and the video quality, it is well worth investing some time and effort watching some of the excellent tutorial videos available on You Tube prior to attempting your first flight, as is the use of the restricted beginner's mode. Once you are more confident in the handling of the drone, then you can start to get more adventurous. By taking the time to learn and get familiar with all the settings and control, your experience will be far more relaxed and the video results much more professional. This fly more combo is great as it comes with a total of 3 intelligent flight batteries as well as with a bunch of useful accessories - I probably would not have purchased,for example, the landing pad, but it has been invaluable when operating the Mavic off of a wooden dock. I am regularly having 20-21min of flight time with plenty of battery to spare which is impressive. The drone is responsive, fast and yet also very stable. The best feature is the portability, so much easier to travel with than the Phantom, simply amazing how they have packed so much into this small package. One little glitch I experienced was using the supplied short cable to connect my iPhone 6, the results were not good, but as soon as I started using the regular cord with from the USB hub in the controller, everything worked perfectly. A short cord is recommended for this. The DJI carrying case is not great and I have already purchased another case that allows me to safely store the drone, controller, batteries and most of the accessories altogether, I will see how that works out. Around the world we are seeing increasing pressure to further restrict drone use, but is all of us drone users are sensible and safe then hopefully we will be able to continue to fly responsibly for years to come. The battery charging hub is great, no need to switch out batteries on the charger, they just charge up sequentially. The battery on the controller does not last as long as on the Phantom, but it is much smaller, it also does not seem to charge the phone (which is OK) but make sure you keep your phone well charged before you need to fly. This is what came in the bundle: Mavic Pro: Fanastic Controller: Great, no longer need to use a harness, this thing is light, but feels solid and well made, works great 3 batteries: I would say that is a minimum requirement DJI case: Nice but not as practical as other options out there Helipad (two colors with stakes for use in grass): actually surprisingly useful, almost a must have Charing hub: see above - excellent and a time saver Car charger: a must for shooting away from home/office Extra rotors: always check your rotors before each flight and any damage, change immediately! Cleaning kit: very nice little kit, has everything needed 64GIG Card: a must USB card reader: very nice feature to have Landing gear extenders: haven't flows with these yet Gimbal and lens protector: haven't tried this yet The only things missing: better quality, larger case for carrying everything in one and lens filters. Overall: 5 stars!

After many, many trials, and thousands of dollars later, I have found that DJI products are the best all-around. My Yuneec drones pull a close second, and my Walkera had potential, but had issues. All others are toys, or are poor-quality "wannabe-DJI" clones which never measure up to their hype (Parrot). This one is compact, fast, fairly quiet, and thankfully, easy to repair. If I was more serious about cinematography, I probably would have chosen the Phantom Pro or Inspire, but the 4K camera on the Mavic Pro is nearly on par with the Phantom. I did purchase TWO additional batteries (this bundle comes with TWO) for a total of four, plus a third-party charger that will simultaneously charge four Mavic batteries and two USB devices, as well as a set of ND filters, otherwise this kit has everything one needs to get going.

BE AWARE BEFORE YOU BUY THIS THAT THEY WONT COVER ANY DEFECTS THIS DRONE MAY HAVE. WE BOUGHT THIS ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO. WE HAVE ONLY USED IT COUPLE TIMES AND WHEN WE WERE GOING TO USE IT AGAIN IT WAS NOT WORKING RIGHT, THE CAMERA WOULD MOVE LIKE CRAZY AND SPIN ON ITSELF (I BELIEVE THEY CALL IT GIMBAL) WELL, WE CONTACTED DJI.COM (SINCE AMAZON SAID THEY DONT COVER THAT) ABOUT THE ISSUE AND GUESS WHAT THEY WONT COVER TO FIX IT BECAUSE THEY SAY IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY SO, I DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY COVER THEN, I WAS ALSO WATCHING A LOT OF VIDEOS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM SO IM PRETTY SURE IS NOT OUR FAULT FOR DOING THAT BUT SOMETHING THEY DIDNT DO RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING . SO, JUST GIVING HEADS UP BEFORE YOU BUY IT. NOT WORTH BUYING SOMETHING SO EXPENSIVE AND WHEN IT HAS SOMETHING WRONG THEY DONT WANT TO TAKE THEIR FAULT BUT MAKE US PAY FOR IT. BEST TO GO TO A LOCAL STORE (LIKE BEST BUY) AND BUY FROM THEM. I PERSONALLY HAVENT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WHEN I BUY SOMETHING FROM THEM AND ITS WRONG THEY ALWAYS HELP, I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT..... NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT!!
