I feel like there are a lot of short, fake reviews for this product. Most people agree this drone/brand is a market leader for technology, price, and value. If you never have flown a DJI drone before, you should watch some youtube reviews. The intelligence in the brand is far and above any drone, I have worked with. All of the drones take advantage of the same technology, so you get some really high-end features for a mid-priced drone. Key things I like: - Amazing compact, it is extremely small and light to travel with, even with extra batteries - Sport Mode is amazing to play with if you have the space, 37mph one way the turning on a dime, AWESOME! - I flew 1.2 miles from my controller before losing video and triggering the auto return to home, with 40% battery when landing. - It has a ton of crash deterrent and recovery features; start in beginner mode, watch the short training videos, don't fly in urban or crowded areas and you will have a great time There are no complaints I really have for this drone... The only complaint I have is it is hard to do a side by side comparison of the drone models on the company's website. Youtube had some great comparison of the features which is normally around camera quality, drone hardware size effecting battery and flight duration but does not affect the underlying technology features. Finally, if you are worried about crashing, you can buy insurance for the first 48 hours of activating the drone from DJI. Replacement is reasonably priced. ... show more

    • Absolutely amazing except...
DJI designed a fantastically capable drone with a very compact size when transporting (drone and controller). However, DJI forces you to use the charger that comes with the drone, which isn’t much smaller than the folded up drone itsself. This makes the drone less suitable for backpacking, motorcycle excursions, etc. Otherwise this would be the perfect travel drone. It’s infuriating... :( ... show more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, after watching hundreds of videos and reading fourms of the do's and donts I finally decided to take my Mavic on it Maiden flight just to discover the propeller props where hitting the side of the craft making a loud noise after replacing it with two of the spare props I was able to get it up and going just to have it loose connection with the controller....
