Owning the DJI Flip for over 2 months I have tested every feature and I impressed with the quality and design of the Flip.Being my first professional rc drone I was not the biggest expert when flying but with app and plenty of resources and tutorials for this drone I was never disappointed with my purchase. Flying without the remote: Being under 250 Grams I wasn’t expecting a lot of features but with smart video modes like “Boomerang” and “Rocket” this compact drone can be a mini personal photographer (you don’t need someone to control it for you because of it’s AI tracking features). Flying with a remote: When flying with the RCN3 controller this drone is just like any other DJI drone. With its front LiDar ,beginners won’t have to worry about crashing it. Also it’s high quality boasts 48 megapixel photos and 4K video at 60 frames per second in 10 bit color, so no worries on the camera’s quality. With all my love and respect to DJI the drone came with a completely dead battery which can effect the flight time. If it will be a case for me, I will ask for replacement! I will also add my drone review after several test flights and shootings. Update: battery works fine! You have solid 25 min of fly time with a little bit of wind. My bad! The flip is amazing. All the things you can do with this drone. Weight is as they say, below the limit that would require registration. Flew this a mile away with flawless control (the further you go the higher you should fly). No problem flying in 15 mph winds. I especially love the remote that came with it (screen built in) no need for a cell phone for video and fpv. Of course being a DJI this wasn't cheap but I think it was in the right price range for everything you get. Most important is the forward and below crash protection radar. And with blade protection you just can't go wrong. This is so easy to fly my advice is don't spend money on a cheaper drone only to want a DJI later. Just get this an you won't be sorry. You need to start with a 3 axis gimble (which this has) if you want nice video so you'll spend anywhere from $300 to $500 anyway. So just spend the extra bucks and save money in the long run. ... show more

The flip was a joy to fly as a beginner drone. It does not handle the wind very well, but if you’re flying on a nice day, it’s a great little drone. It’s not going to do as well as the other drones that DJI puts out like the mini four pro but you’re not paying the money for it either. Looks awesome, I spent 4 months procrastinating spending this kind of money on a toy for me. finally spent the $900 and got it !!!! So excited until I opened the directions, step 1 register the drone with FAA , should be easy , just enter the serial # , none found , ok , then just enter the model , none found . Customer service , yea right . I didn't even get to the part where you have to take a course and test , and then register with the FCC , and what's up with the app asking you to pretty much give DJI access to everything on your phone? I am licensed and work in the Nuclear Science industry , the only thing I think I did right was open the box , and process the return , what a disappointment , going with the Holy Stone drone now ... show more
