    • Time to make your millions on YouTube now....
Color: gray
Philthy reViews.... How to make millions on YouTube..... If you have ever took video from a phone, you'll see how craptacular it is. Seizure video at its finest. I didn't really believe it either until I saw the difference. I own a Note 8 so it's a pretty big phone but it works great. Day and night. I came from the Smooth Q gimbal but I lost it in Canada. If you are in the neighborhood for taking smoother video as well as enhancing it, then that's why you're looking at this item or those like it. The software you download for it is pretty self explanatory, but there are Youtube vids that will walk you through all the features and settings. It's better than the Smooth Q one, but this thing doesn't do full 360 rotation. You will notice a notch that prevents it. No idea why. Where this is not exactly a dealbreaker, it does detract from it's overall appeal. Like the Smooth Q, it can charge your phone and attach to a tripod. I've shot tons of vids on it and it is amazing. I will try to post some to illustrate it. If you are trying to create a channel, family videos, or great vacation footage, I recommend it ... show more

    • Great product improvement and pricing strategy by DJI
Color: gray
I'm new to videography and wanted nothing more sophisticated than my iPhone 7+. But when looking for a gimbal the price of the Osmo Mobile 1 turned me off. So I decided to go with the Smooth Q, but then I learned that the motor was not strong enough for the weight of the 7+. Fortunately, DJI launched the Osmo Mobile 2, and with a price point of $129, it was meant for me. The big bonus is that the battery now lasts 15 instead of 4 hours! Great job DJI! You could've put a premium on your brand but you didn't, making your market very happy. Now for iPhone 7 and up users, know that there will be some jittery footage as the phone's (hardware-based) OIS, which cannot be switched off, fights with the Osmo's stabilization. You can minimise this by moving slowly. It can become less evident when you use higher frame rates too. And lastly, try to use FilMic Pro and set the IS function to "On". It won't solve the problem, but it will show an improvement. The Oslo Mobile 2 still has its limitations, but for the price you're paying it's a darn good piece of gear that ups your game. ... show more

    • I LOVE IT!
Color: gray
I've had this product for about two weeks now and have used it on various shoots and in various locations. I LOVE IT!! It took about 30mins to set up perfectly with a small degree of technical knowledge and balanced perfectly with my iPhone X. The upgrade to 15hr battery life is amazing and the price actually went DOWN from the previous model! It is absolutely worth the price of $130.00 for anyone who is serious or semi-serious about making high quality videos for personal or professional purposes. While producing a documentary film recently, I used it for b-roll and as a backup to the main camera guy and the footage was amazing even with jumping off walkways and running in sand. Stable and perfect! ... show more

    • Intrusive app required to use the gimbal
Color: gray
I bought this to stabilize the videos and photos that I take on my phone's camera. I could never use it because the gimbal requires you to install a very instrusive app on your phone. The app requires access to almost everything -- your accounts, your contacts, location, videos, microphone, bluetooth, call information, the list goes on and on.... I searched on a forum to see if this app was spyware and one person said the app wants to contact 33 different servers! It is scary how much information they'r taking from your phone. The amount of information they require doesn't make sense with the functionality of the product. Most apps let you turn off selectively what you don't need -- this app does not let you do that. If you try and turn off permissions selectively (like you don't allow contacts), the Osmo Mobile won't work, it becomes a brick. They force you to give all your information. Osmo is sending your data to 33 different servers in who-knows-what-countries. Less jittery videos is not worth my contacts being spammed or having my personal data being sent to who-knows-how-many-different companies. The full list of what they wanted access to was too long for me to type out. Buyer beware! P.S. If anyone can suggest a gimbal that doesn't have such intrusive requirements, please let me know! ... show more
