I bought this drone as an aid for my drone flying business as well as for my flying hobby. I’d never flown an FPV drone before and this one was so intuitive I picked it up very quickly. Very easy to maneuver in small areas and it’s very fast. One issue I found was the signal can be blocked much easier than other DJI drones. I was flying through a trench and lost signal because of the concrete between the drone and myself. The DJI manual talks more about this so I was fairly warned. But still something notable for this review. Also batteries run out very fast if you are maneuvering at high speeds. Learn your Return to Home functions before flying. ... show more

    • A lot fun to play with it!!!
DJI Avata is everything that I have wanted in an FPV drone and more. It's not so much as a successor to the DJI FPV but rather a whole different beast. I feel that it's a bit underpowered if you want to rip it (although it is very capable of doing that) but I think that DJI Avata is focused more on getting cinematic footage. The experience is very different from the typical drone like the Mini 3 Pro or Air 2S. Whereas the usual Mavics are more linear, the DJI Avata lets you move at moore circular motions, plus you can do flips and rolls that obviously usual drones cannot do. I was able to bring the DJI Avata for a wedding and the quality of videos that I got were very different from what I used to offer my clients. The couple really loved my shots because they were innovative and fresh. Controlling the drone with the motion controller took some getting used to but I quicklyy got the hang of it after a while. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience with the goggles as the view was as real as can be, definitely better than looking at footage from a phone or remote. The groom even got in some flying time during breaks as he's a drone pilot as well. I probably made DJI a sale with the way he enjoyed himself haha! ... show more

I have been flying drones for 5+ years and love DJI drone....except for this one. First.....The sales video is really deceptive. The Goggles.....There is an external battery pack with like a 1980's 3.5mm jack you have to plug into the goggles and either stick it in a pocket or let it hang. Then a cell phone with the app that tracks every single thing and wants access to everything on your phone must be plugged into them at all times or the drone will not fly. Second.....Flying.....If you ever get the compass to calibrate and get the Motion controller to not have interference......good luck with both of these. It took 3 hours to get it to try to calibrate then would loose its mind intermittently and try to land. Third......The motion controller works nothing like on the sales video, theres a weird "joystick" button that does the majority of controlling and you have to use your thumb to direct it with the exception of nose up or nose down. Good luck doing this without pausing the flight, over and over and over again Fourth.....NO CHARGER INCLUDED.......geez, I have another DJI charger (rapid charger).....takes 3 HOURS to charge this battery, MY Mavic pro 2 takes 45 minutes and has more flight time.....geez!!! Plus you dont give me anything but stinking USB's!!! Fifth......The instructions are a joke....plain and simple. Because of the compass and connectivity issue this drone is getting returned Honestly I really really really wanted to like this drone to add to my stable, but it was such a disappointment, it was like some wish drone or something. It does seem made well and looks as if it can handle some tumbles, but its a user interface FLOP. Its like they released it before it was near ready.     • Very durable little fpv drone
(Update - motion controller will not charge with usb-c to usb-c smart charger. Only with standard usb to usb-c. The rest of the batteries will work with super fast charging. ) This is my first drone. I like the fpv for me it's easier to fly. The motion controller only takes a few minutes to get the hang of. I will be getting the other controller so I can put it in manually mode. I've crashed more times than I can count lol. And it's held up. I'm talking sport mode 30+ mph straight into a concert wall and nothing broke. Turtle control works good. The only problem I've had after flipping it's self back upright is sticks or thick grass/ weeds stick the propeller . It won't start if something is blocking the blade. One WARNING ⚠️ if you get motion sickness easily don't get fpv. Otherwise this is a awesome beast of a drone. ... show more

    • It is much like a VERY angry bee.. buzzy, fast and it could sting
very noisy (see the bee parallel above), very small, looks to be very capable BUT very quick and it takes a very talented pilot with experience.. sadly, MY experience was limited due to the hand held controller being defective in that it would not recharge.. if the price was lower (and i got mine from amazon warehouse, cheaper than full retail) it might have tried to get the controller replaced or repaired and tried again but (another but) this is a young mans game.. I tried mine in the kitchen (12 foot ceilings), it hovered than jumped up, hit the wall and fell to the floor, unscathed.. ... show more
